Blue smoke is commonly caused by rings not creating a good seal in the cylinders. To truly fix this problem you need to replace your rings. Worn valve guides can also let oil into the combustion chamber.

For some engines, blowing blue smoke is normal on startup. The 4-cylinder "flying brick" in the BMW K1200 lets a small amount of oil drain into the combustion chambers when the bike is parked on the kick stand because it leans toward the head.

First, roll back the rubber weather guard around the bulb port on the back of the headlight casing. Second, release the retainer "wire" by pushing down then back (toward the engine) on the side of the retainer closest to the radiator. Third, pull the bulb, weather guard, and wiring back and out of the casing. Fourth, hold the plug on the wiring and pull the bulb out. Replace with new bulb being careful not to get any grease, dirt, or "skin oil" on the glass of the bulb. A paper towel or nitrile gloves will help. Reverse steps to install. Check operation before driving.

I just went through this problem with my 2004 Grand Vitara. It was in the shop for 2 months before they figured it out. The problem turned out to be the AC was leaking inside of the car and water was pouring down on the computer module. Once the computer module was shorted out it would dump gas into the number 3 piston. Hope this helps.

Take off the wheel, remove the plastic cap if stuck to hub assy, undo the 10mm bolts (Air tools work with vehicle off ground, spanner wont......unless you braace through wheel studs with a big wrench, using a hammer and a worn out flat head scre driver, hammer around the outer hub cap until you have enough room to pry off the cap. Don't bother trying to remove the dust cap.......it's pointless.......undo the Phillips screws holding the multi holed ring in place. Using a circlip removal tool, or a thin pair of pliers, pry off the circlip over the splined end shaft of the CV shaft (Drive shaft)..........this is where I am now, trying to figure out how to get the inner ring assy out without pulling of the wheel hub or removing the CV shaft...........more if I figure it out.........

Well, just a few more notes, my Vitara is a North American Model, which I believe in every other part of the world, the Sidekick that I new and loved, was also called the Vitara. As to my 2001 2 door, forget the bit about hammering off the hubs with a flat head, there is little indentations you can use to pry everything apart........as I could not find anything

that related to "Locking" the hubs inside, I am wondering if it is inside the differential.........Stumped I am.

Ah well, good time to chuck some grease on the cv shaft ends anyway........grrrr.......

just done it myself....the two grub screws holding the rotor(disc) on are hard to get off .I tried heating ,bashing with a impact hammer, but in the end what worked was penetrating oil ,in the right place.and allow to stand for at least a few hours and then i use a nail punch to put a small hole in the screw head and then hit it on an angle and the screw started to loosen........the rotor ,penetrating oil and let stand overnight and give a good wack the next morning.

we just changed my fuel pump and fuel filter since we were in the tank... yes, you have to drop the gas tank because it's in the tank and the filter is just under the fuel pump. my 2003 vitara still won't start but it wasn't a waste because the filter was very dirty and grit was in it. if at all possible to avoid this, don't run your tank constantly at below empty. i, now, try to fill at 1/2 tank or just a little over. this messes up the pump. hope this helps

This can sometimes cause the Carb bowl to over fill, which sends out fumes.

I believe the jimny is the same vehicle marketed in the US as a Samurai? If so, the fuse box is under the dash on the left side of the car, has a brown pop off cover. Most of the wiring harness exits the back of the fuse box straight through the firewall. If you look in the engine compartment you will see the big wiring harness, about an inch in diameter, where it comes through, near where the steering column comes through. It uses the larger spade-tipped fuses...not old round ones, not the new mini-fuses. At least that's what was used on the 4 Samurai's I've owned. (2 1986s, one 1987, one 1998.) Hope that helps.
