Which belt are you referring to? If the accessory belts perform as follows. The front (bumper facing belt must be completely flexed while tightening the two pulley screws found on the onlu pulley in the front belt system. This requires downward pressure. The engine facing belt has a tension pulley which throuhg the use of a prying device can be flexed and tightened with ease.

And then i think you have to drop the trans pan to unhook the cable from inside trans.

Remove lower fan belt pulley wheel then undo all bolts around perimeter of black plastic case behind it, This exposes the timing belt. You will need to replace the idler wheel at the same time. Be sure to lock the two pulley wheels together BEFORE removing the old belt. Undo the bolt in the cam centre of the idler wheel and replace the wheel. Replace the belt and assemble in reverse order. A couple of poits to watch are that the lower fan belt pulley wheel can be an absolute pig to remove so its best to remove the radiator first, To do this just remove all the hoses from the rad and at the top of the rad there are two 10mm bolts. Undo them and the rad just lifts out vertically. I know this is extra work but it only takes 10 to 15 minutes and it will save the risk of puncturing the radiator.If anyone has any good tips on how to remove that bolt on the lower fan belt pulley (thats the one on the end of the crankshaft) PLEASE would you let me know as I have just broken 2 good ratchet handles trying to do just that.
