Overall, the question of which is "better" rests upon the role intended for them. As a decisive breakthrough weapon, meant for deep, rapid advances through an enemy front, the Leclerc is the superior system. However, in tank-vs-tank combat, the Challenger II, with its heavy armor and competitive gun (not to say the Leclerc's weapon is inferior), plus its recent combat experience, would be more survivable than its French opponent.

You should be able to take the old tank off and mesure the distance of the mounting bolt holes and mesure the diamiter of the water hole then go to home depot and mesure some of the tanks they have. I diagree with the previous answer. By the way, it's spelled: measure. Anyway, if you have a 1.6 gallon toilet tank, you should replace it with the same brand. The American M1A1 Abrams tank is the tank with the best track record. Not one has been made inoperable sense its making in the 1980's. The armor is made in a way that makes missiles, mines and arms fire feel like a squirt gun is being shot at you. However, this does not mean that it is the best tank. It is hard to say, but the Challenger 2 is also a fierce opposition, it is the only tank to last a war with no losses. Despite opposition, the Challenger 2 is probably the best MBT.
