There are many book stores in downtown Toronto that sell many used books in various conditions. Much of it is a matter of searching and hunting. Various colleges of University of Toronto also hold book sales. The books are guaranteed not to be damaged. The worst that happens is a stain on the cover, but the books they sell are never ripped or falling apart.
Certain book stores downtown may sell used books that are damaged, but for a cheaper price.
