Track events are running events that take place in an IAAF athletics stadium. To be considered a track event, the scoring of the event must be measured in time. Some track events include steeplechase, relays, and hurdling.

Otherwise your strategy is ok. To break 60 you should probably make your stride faster. At first it will be hard to maintain a faster stride but eventually you'll get there.
