In the 1980s, Adobe Systems did a study on this. They typed up a page of text in many different sizes, set it in a lot of different fonts then faxed each page to see which one came out the clearest. They found Lucida, Lucida Sans and Helveticawere the best, in that order. Times didn't do well.

The labels on products are carefully designed, as are the logos. Designers often create a special typeface for a client, or stylize an existing font, and many small changes are made to achieve the desired look. A similar font may be found by looking at typeface samples.

The font that is used for the Synovus Bank logo is Carter One. This type of font is found on Microsoft Word and on Open Office programs.Ê

There are a lot of great font sites out there that have fonts from movies. Dafont.com is the best site that I have used. In the right corner of the site you can search for the font you're looking for to see if they have it.

University of Wisconsin - Green Bay says they are saving 30% on ink by using Century Gothic instead of Arial.

I just had the damdest font that wouldn't delete from the fonts folder because it said that it was in use by another program, even

after I'd just booted up.

I surfed and found this delightfully free software which tells you what is locking a file and allows you to unlock it.

Yes it is ! I just checked using an existing document, and French Script MT is available in the font menu.

The Myriad font used by Apple was created by, and is sold by, Adobe (See links below). It will be installed with many of Adobe's applications such as Photoshop or illustrator. If you do not have these but you do have the Adobe Reader software (See links below) on a Mac, right click on the Reader application's icon, select Show Contents from the menu, in the search box in the window that opens type Myriad and double click on the font's icon to install it.

Some say it was designed by Kellogg himself.

If you Google: Irken Font or Irken Alphabet then you will get downloadable text thingys... but sometimes your computer isn't compatible with the download :)

Yes, i did this for my science fair, the harder to read the font is, the better you memorise it. MySerif font worked the best, my BOLD font worked least good

Closest I have found is GOUDY STOUT and its barely close. This logo of course pre-dates fonts and I'd imagine no one has recreated. Let me know if you ever found the answer.

The Calibri font was created and is distributed by Microsoft within their software products. It is not available separately from Microsoft but they have licensed Ascender to distribute the font. (See links below)
