What are the areas of economy where government intervention is considered desirable?
It is possible according to some interpretations for a market economy to have government intervention in the economy. The key difference between market economies and planned economies lies not with the degree of government influence but whether that influence is used to coercively preclude private decision.[original research?] In a market economy, if the government wants more steel, it collects taxes and then buys the steel at market prices. In a planned economy, a government which wants more steel simply orders it to be produced and sets the price by decree. An economy where both central planning and market mechanisms of production and distribution are present is known as a mixed economy. Germany's social market economy was one of the better functioning mixed economies, as microeconomists note that it had relatively free prices compared to other more socialist countries like the United Kingdom for much of the later 20th century.[citation needed] The proper role for government in a market economy remains controversial. Most supporters of a market economy believe that government has a legitimate role in defining and enforcing the basic rules of the market. Different perspectives exist as to how strong a role the government should have in both guiding the economy and addressing the inequalities the market produces. For example, there is no universal agreement on issues such as protectionist tariffs, federal control of interest rates, and welfare programs. Milton Friedman, along with many microeconomists[Who?], believed that too much government intervention and regulation can result in hampering or stopping the transmission of information necessary to allow the market to operate, resulting in very serious government externalities that can lead to inflation, deflation, recessions, and economic depressions. Milton Friedman believes that the Great Depression was the result of a government created externalities and thus was responsible for the causes of the Great Depression

Should examinations be abolished?
There are two ways of looking at this question.
Points in favour of abolishing them:-
*The approach of present examination systems means the beginning of fear, tension, anxiety and stress in the minds of the students under which if a student doesn't performs according to his/her parents expectations may lead to students even taking the extreme step of ending their life by doing suicide.
*Some people also think that exams are not a reliable test of gauging the ability of the students as luck plays a major role.
*Present examination system encourage cramming, unnecessary expenditure on help-books and also encourage private tuition which has resulted in mushrooming of a large number of tuition shops in every city and even small towns by inexperienced persons.
*The present examination system doesn't specify the exact criteria for how the marks are given to students.
(No one can deny that external factors can sometimes influence the distribution of marks-- like whether the teacher was in an angry mood over something in his/her personal life, or whether the teacher was upset with the class and giving a test to punish them.
*The pressure of performing well is so much that if the student has not studied up to the required standards, he/she even sometimes uses unfair means in the examination hall to copy from a near sitting intelligent student and get good marks.
Others have also said:
School examinations should be abolished because:
Better alternatives include:
But those in favour of school examinations say they serve a useful purpose. Thus, they should not be abolished because:

How is University of London related to the University College London?
The University of London is a federal institution: the University (Senate House headquarters) determines exam standards, awards degrees, & maintains certain facilities/ specialist research institutes etc., whilst academic teaching & research are conducted by the various constituent "colleges".
These constituent colleges vary considerably in size & character: some have a specialist focus & are relatively small (eg London School of Economics - social sciences, law etc; Goldsmiths - arts, design etc; Heythrop - theology/ religion, philosophy etc; Birkbeck - part-time study for mature students; Institute of Education - education; the Royal Veterinary College - veterinary medicine), whilst others are much larger (probably 20,000 +), & are, in fact, comprehensive universities in their own right covering everything from arts/ humanities, social sciences, languages, maths & science to engineering, law, medicine & dentistry, & business.
Such "colleges" include University College, King's College, & Queen Mary College. UCL & King's are the oldest (and arguably most prestigious) - the "foundational" colleges of London University. Royal Holloway is another - located at Egham, Surrey, on the fringes of London proper: originally it was a female only college. Today Royal Holloway is co-ed, & covers arts/ humanities, languages, sciences/ maths, social sciences etc, but not engineering, medicine, dentistry.
St George's, South London, is a very big medical school/ centre for health sciences: teaching & research are entirely medical & health science focused, including nursing, podiatry, optometry, physiotherapy, as well as its large medical school.
Imperial in South Kensington (science, maths, engineering & technology, medicine etc) has recently (2007) left the University of London federal structure, & is now a separate university in its own right, awarding its own degrees.
There are also numerous research institutions under the London University umbrella - eg Institute of Historical Research; specialist schools of Oriental, African, Eastern European, French & German research; various medical institutes (eg Cancer Research; Tropical Medicine & Hygiene); the Courtauld Institute (Fine Art/ Art History), as well as the School of Pharmacy, & the London Business School.
London University is huge: if "external" students (ie students studying for certain degrees via distance learning or in associated institutions abroad or elsewhere in the UK - law & economics are very popular) are included, it has well over 170,000 students. On a practical day to day basis, however, most students live & study in the individual colleges to which they belong, & the University of London is simply the overarching authority that awards degrees. UCL students will, therefore, spend their time in & around the University College campus in Bloomsbury/ Central London; Queen Mary students will be in the rather different environment of the East End, whilst those at Royal Holloway will be in the very wealthy, semi-rural, environment of Egham, Surrey... but all are students of the University of London.

The "General Certificate of Education 'Ordinary' Level Examination", otherwise known as the "GCE 'O' Level" or the "O Levels" is the examination taken by students of Secondary Education in the United Kingdom, Commonwealth countries or regions associated with the British curriculum.
The "Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia", abbreviated as "SPM" is the same academic standard qualification as the "GCE 'O' Level" and is deemed equal to it by local universities and local campuses in Malaysia.
However, in application process, or qualification statements, the "SPM" must not be named the "GCE 'O' Level", as they are equal, not the same entity. Therefore, "SPM" can be considered equal to "GCE 'O' Level", but cannot be considered as.
Which is better Eton or Cambridge?
They're not the same thing.
Eton is a "public school" meaning it teaches boys from 14-18 through their GCSEs and A Levels. It's fee-paying, and whilst there is an entrance exam, it's not particularly difficult, and the main barrier for most people going there would be the money!
Cambridge is consistently ranked in the top universities in the world, and has been one of the leading degree-awarding institutions for hundreds of years. Famous alumni include legendary scientists like Sir Isaac Newton, and statesmen such as William Pitt.
So although you're not comparing two things the same, there's no doubt that Cambridge is a far higher academic standard. But it's a lot cheaper to attend!
What standard does king set for judging people?
Martin Luther King Jr. advocated for judging individuals based on their character rather than their race, ethnicity, or any superficial traits. He emphasized the importance of moral integrity and the content of one's character as the true measure of a person's worth. King's vision called for equality and justice, urging society to transcend prejudice and discrimination in order to build a more inclusive and compassionate world.
It the equal amounts of time are T units of time, then the two graphs will be curves such that their width (domains) = T, but their heights (ranges) will be different.
From the information provided in the question, you may not assume that both the graphs start at the same time, not may you assume that they are straight lines.
