How many weeks are in a week?

Of course, one week is in a week and a week is comprised of 7 days.

If a scan showed you were 28 weeks pregnant but when you went to the hospital they said you felt 30-32 weeks pregnant could the scan prediction be wrong?

Ultrasound predictions of how far along someone is get worse and worse the longer the person is pregnant. An ultrasound predicting 28 weeks pregnant could be 2 weeks off (either more or less); by the end of pregnancy, they can be as many as three weeks off. The best ultrasounds to get to predict due dates are those done in the first trimester (first three months). In this case, having an ultrasound predicting 28 weeks pregnant and a physician predicting 30 could be about the same thing. "Feeling" 30-32 weeks pregnant also isn't the best predictor either, as different physicians and nurses may estimate differently. Hope this helps! Dr. B.

What is ultrasound?

Ultrasound is sound which has a frequency higher than that of audible sound.

( like radar )

ADDED: Not like radar. That uses radio waves, although sonar and radar principles are similar.

You began showing showing at 6 weeks but now im not at all is that normal?

Women do not begin "showing" a pregnancy at 6 weeks. At that point, your uterus is still in your pelvis.

Why baby not growing in the womb after 5 weeks?

If the baby is healthy, it should Be growing right up until you give birth.

After 3 miscarriages with a bicornuate uterus can you still have a baby and will the baby be normal?

Yes you can. I also suffer from a bicornuate uterus. It was first detected during the ceserean delivery of my first child. My next pregnancy, however, ended in a miscarriage which was attributed to a cornual implantation. There is hope though, because I was able to carry to term with the first pregnancy, that subsequent pregnancies could be successful.

AnswerHi there.

I am not familiar with a Bicornuate Uterus but several miscarriages do need to be investigated by a gynocologist. The cause of the miscarriages needs to be determined so it can be rectified.

Im sorry this isn't much help but I thought I would reply to you and steer you in the right direction incase someone didn't answer your question. Good luck and Im sorry about the miscarriages.

How does an ultrasound determine how far along you are?

It gives the ultrasound technician a peek at the fetus, to identify certain key traits that can gauge how far along the pregnancy is. For instance, the presence of a 'yolk sac' is indicative of a pregnancy that is 10 weeks along or less, as that is what nourishes the baby before the placenta and umbilical cord are developed and functioning (which usually occurs at 11 weeks). There are certain traits that are only around for a certain period of time too, like a tail, the oversized head, etc. It helps them be able to more confidently say "you are 9 weeks, 1 day pregnant" as opposed to just 9 weeks. Also, the size, position, and movements of the fetus are all indicators of how developed it is.

What does sonographer earn?

According to the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS), sonographers earned a median salary of $78,520 in 2013. Salaries for sonographers are very competitive compared to other occupations with the same educational requirements.

Im sure im 5 weeks pregnant not 7 and i had 2 ultrasound they both show sac but no baby is it too early to see the first 1 was at 3 weeks and then at 5 but according to the doctor im 7 weeks?

If you are 7 weeks from your last period, you are seven weeks pregnant, 3 weeks pregnant is before you miss a period and you would not have a scan then. If you are seven weeks and there is no sign of a fetal pole it appears that the embryo may not have developed and you will miscarry soon, I am sorry.

What does '2 spines' mean as a presenting part in your antenatal notes?

The spines are actually those pointy bits on the mother's pelvis, the bits that hurt if you ride a bicyle for too long. When the midwife or doctor examines the mother he/she makes an estimate of how far above or below the spines the baby's head is. -2 means it is 2cm above the spines, this is quite low down and is a good indication that the baby is in a good position to be born. As labor progresses the head comes down and by the time it is +2 the mother is probably in the second stage of labor.

I'am 7 weeks pregnant What does it mean when a doctor does a ultrasound and states she can see a little bit of blood in the sac I'am not having any abdominal pain and I'am mildly bleeding red blood?

It could mean anything. Worst case scenario is that it is a miscarraige. You should ask your doctor what it means since he is the one who knows the most about this situation. You will know it is a misscarraige when you bleed heavily like a period and cramp really bad. If this happens, realize that your body is passing a bad embryo and if you had carried it to term, the baby could have serious problems. Everything happens for a reason. Grieve in a healthy way for your loss and try again when you are emotionally ready. The drop in pregnancy hormones may cause depression, deal with it, don't ignore it. Good luck!

Who are watchmakers?

A watchmaker is an artisan who makes and repairs watches. Since a majority of watches are now factory made, most modern watchmakers solely repair watches. However, originally they were master craftsmen who built watches, including all their parts, by hand. Modern watchmakers, when required to repair older watches, for which replacement parts may not be available, must have fabrication skills, and can typically manufacture replacements for many of the parts found in a watch.

What is the difference between ultra sonic and infrasonic sound?

sound waves with frequencies 20 hertz or lower are infrasonic and waves above 20,000hertz are ultra sonic!

Is it common for your baby to have a heartbeat of 72 bpm?

It depends on how old the baby is. If it's unborn or a newborn then no, that is uncommon and I would consult your doctor. An unborn or newborn's heart rate should be between 130 - 150 bpm with some variability, depending on how far along in development it is.

Also, it depends on how you got the number 72. If you were measuring the bpm yourself it is extremely likely that you picked up your heart rate and not the baby's. This can even happen in doctor's appointments but the doctor will notice and adjust the ultrasound monitor to pick up the baby's heartbeat.

Introduction of ultrasonic?

we know that human ear can not hear sounds of frequency less than 20Hz or more than about 20,000 Hz . Sounds of frequency higher than 20,000 Hz , which are inaudible to human ear, can be produced and are utilized in many useful ways. Such sounds are called ultrasonics

How much is it for an ultrasound for a pregnant dog?

Call your local vet and ask. There is no harm in asking. It varies largely state to state and vet to vet. The vet will also want to do a routine check up to make sure the mother is doing well in her pregnancy, the entire visit may cost around $100 or most likely more.

What degree does an ultrasound tech have?

This field falls under the category of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Therefore, the following is written by and according to the U.S. Department of Labor and particular to the education and training required for a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Diagnostic medical sonography is an occupation where there is no preferred level of education and several avenues of education are widely accepted by employers. Although no level of education is preferred, employers do prefer sonographers who trained in accredited programs and who are registered.
Education and training. There are several avenues for entry into the field of diagnostic medical sonography. Sonographers may train in hospitals, vocational-technical institutions, colleges and universities, and the Armed Forces. Some training programs prefer applicants with a background in science or experience in other health care professions. Some also may consider high school graduates with courses in mathematics and science, as well as applicants with liberal arts backgrounds, but this practice is infrequent.
Colleges and universities offer formal training in both 2- and 4-year programs, culminating in an associate or a bachelor's degree. Two-year programs are most prevalent. Course work includes classes in anatomy, physiology, instrumentation, basic physics, patient care, and medical ethics.
A few 1-year programs that may result in a certificate also are accepted as proper education by employers. These programs typically are satisfactory education for workers already in health care who seek to increase their marketability by training in sonography. These programs are not accredited.
The Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited 147 training programs in 2006. These programs typically are the formal training programs offered by colleges and universities. Some hospital programs are accredited as well.
Certification and other qualifications. Although no State requires licensure in diagnostic medical sonography, organizations such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certify the skills and knowledge of sonographers through credentialing, including registration. Because registration provides an independent, objective measure of an individual's professional standing, many employers prefer to hire registered sonographers. Sonographers registered by the ARDMS are Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS). Registration with ARDMS requires passing a general physical principles and instrumentation examination, in addition to passing an exam in a specialty such as obstetric and gynecologic sonography, abdominal sonography, or neurosonography. Sonographers must complete a required number of continuing education hours to maintain registration with the ARDMS and to stay abreast of technological advancements related to the occupation.
Sonographers need good communication and interpersonal skills because they must be able to explain technical procedures and results to their patients, some of whom may be nervous about the exam or the problems it may reveal. Good hand-eye coordination is particularly important to obtaining quality images. It is also important that sonographers enjoy learning because continuing education is the key to sonographers staying abreast of the ever-changing field of diagnostic medicine. A background in mathematics and science is helpful for sonographers as well.
Advancement. Sonographers specializing in one particular discipline often seek competency in others. For example, obstetric sonographers might seek training in abdominal sonography to broaden their opportunities and increase their marketability.
Sonographers may also have advancement opportunities in education, administration, research, sales, or technical advising.

The first uses the second, so they are not really "similar".

How many weeks are in a month?

That changes a bit from each month. Some have 30 days, some have 31, and February is a bit special.

January, March, May, July, August, October and December have 31 days.

April, June, September and November have 30 days.

February usually has 28 days, but ever 4th year (every leap year) it has 29.

Now, how many weeks are there in 31, 30, 29 and 28 days?

31 days - 4 weeks and 4 days

30 days - 4 weeks and 3 days

29 days - 4 weeks and 2 days

28 days - 4 weeks and 1 day

But to make it easier, we often say that there are 4 1/2 weeks in a month.

At least four weeks, but sometimes, there are additional days added to make part of a fifth week because not every month has exactly 28 days.
