i don't know about the non-scholarship part, but if u are in smp you have signed a Contract with the Guard or Reserves, not ROTC. Having an IEP is supposed to help you through school, not hurt your chances for a better life in the future. Depending on your disability, there may be other ways to cope, but your parents will have to be diligent and perhaps aggressive in finding them.

In any case, like any other person, you have to have a plan to obtain training and skills so that you can hold a job, pay rent and support yourself as an adult. Ask your school counselor, check into the requirements of Job Corps, ask about obtaining a GED and so on. You should not plan to stay home and hang out.

There are two basic requirements for enlistment: first, you must be a high school graduate or equivalent; second you must be at least 17.5 years old with parental consent, or 18 without. A HS sophomore is two years from graduation, delayed enlistment--if it is offered by the Marine Corps--only offers one year before the enlistee must report for training.

The first term in the Air Force has to be at least two years long. After the two years is up you can go for longer.
