Well, previous button should be to the left of the next button, because if any one want to go to the next page of search result then definitely he will go to the right side, for example you can see www.Google.com, open the Google and search any thing then you will see two buttons in bottom of the page, the previous button would be to the left of the next button. (same thing with Yahoo, MSN, and all the major search engines).

And if you are using the previous and next button on the search bar then the situation would be different. For example open a new browser of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox whatever web browser you are using, after opening the new browser Press CTRL + F short key on your key board, then in bottom of your screen you will see a search bar will be open named "Find", Now see there the previous button would be to the right of the next button. So in this condition the Previous button would be in right side of the next button.

Now it depends on you, where you want to use the Previous and Next button. So check above and use as per your requirement.
