Why do mobile phones use microwaves and not radio waves?
Microwaves ARE radio waves, just very high frequency radio waves.
Some newer phones use a higher frequency (800 to 1900 MHz, aka ultra high frequency) to avoid interference from other broadcasting signals and from various types of machinery.
* The term "microwave" refers to wavelengths that correspond to frequencies from about 1 GHz (1000 MHz) to 30 GHz, which has been used for line-of-sight communication relay links. Cellphones do not use the same frequencies. (3 to 30 GHz is designated "super high frequency.")
How can you use a mobile phone for bullying?
You can texting mean messages to people which is cyber bullying.
it sounds like hes playin games, he might hav a really good explanation but i doubt it, or he may not have the heart to tell u. if i was u i wouldn't even text him sayin ur not txtin him agen, if he really likes u then he will txt or email u, if u havnt heard nothin in a couple of weeks then u no how he really felt. thing is you never chase a guy as now hel feel you were being needy and that makes guys run a mile, chill out and don't scare them away
How can you find out who is harassing you on your cell phone when they are also calling from a cell?
you can't cell phone companies have privacy laws they have to follow. If the harassing was considered dangerous the police can get involved to get the name of the person.Your best and easiest solution is to just change your cell phone number and be cautious of who you give your new number to.
ANSWER but this isn't entirely impossible. if you give your number to your friend and then your friend gives it to another person who says they only have good intentions, your number can spread like wildfire because the other person may use it for "cruel intentions".
How do you dial a UK cell from the US if 011-44-79xxxxx doesn't work?
In your question, it looks like you didn't dial all the digits. A UK mobile phone number, as dialed from a US or Canadian landline phone, is of the form 011-44-7AXX-XXXXXX-#, where A=4,5,7,8,9 and X is any digit. Pressing the # key at the end tells the telephone switch not to wait for any more digits.
More generally, to dial any UK telephone number from the US, substitute the prefix 011-44 for the trunk prefix 0 of the UK domestic telephone number.
How do microwaves disperse during path loss between communication towers?
Because of the wave nature of electromagnetic waves, it's impossible to radiate
them from a 'launching structure' that has finite dimensions, and expect them
not to spread wider as they proceed over a great distance. So we must picture
any electromagnetic transmission ... whether it's light, radio, radar, microwave,
X-ray, etc. ... as a cone of energy as it proceeds from the transmitter, beginning
with a small cross-section as it leaves the launcher, and growing wider and wider
as it proceeds.
Realizing this, we now have a constant, fixed amount of power, propagating
across a surface area that gets bigger and bigger as we move farther and
farther from the source. So for a receiving antenna of any given size, it makes
sense that the farther the receiver is from the source, the less signal power
it's able to intercept, since that power is spread over a progressively larger
area as the distance increases.
People will also hasten to mention that there are many things all around in
the natural environment that absorb power from the signal, such as trees,
buildings, atmosphere, rain, clouds, soil, etc. They are correct, but these losses
are only a very small part of the weakening of microwave signals with distance.
By far the greatest factor is the geometric spreading with distance, described
above.
Can a power signal be an energy signal?
a signal can never be both energy & power signal because they are mutually exclusive
What are things you do when you're multitasking while driving?
Have an accident, loose you life, kill someone else, and many other very bad things can happen. Driving a car today takes your undivided attention. A car is no place to multitask. Anyone who does this has no business on the road, and is a fool. Amen. The human brain isn't good at multitasking in the "common" sense of the word. And this regardless of any claims made to the contrary. Neurologists are confirming (not finding - they've already found out) that the manner after which the brain functions makes it a "one-thing-at-a-time" kind of machine. What the brain is good at is switching from one task to another. This promotes the illusion that some people are good at multitasking. But, in truth, they really aren't doing "two things at once" as some might think. Texting or doing anything else while driving pulls the attention of the driver from the task of operating the vehicle. It makes driving while texting or some other egregiously foolish thing like that border on criminal. This is being written a week or so after the crash of a commuter passenger train in Southern California where 25 people were killed and over a hundred injured. The train's engineer effectively ran red lights telling him to stop and drove his string of cars into a freight train. He died in the "accident" with some of his passengers, but was texting "a lot" during his run - and up to about 22 seconds before the crash. Better for him (probably) that he was killed in that crash. (Nothing personal here. How would you feel if a family member or loved one was among the fatalities? And would an expensive trial and a long prison term bring anyone back?) This was a train wreck. Something that takes several seconds to develop and to happen. A car wreck happens in the blink of an eye. A link to the news story is below. Use your head on this one. Don't think for a second that you are the "exception to the rule" as regards neuralogical functioning. And don't let anyone else do that, either.
Really is an iceberg a mineral?
An iceberg is a mineral because it has a definite chemical composition, it is an inorganic solid, and it is naturally occurring. You might think it is just frozen water but it is not, it is a mineral when it is an iceberg, but when it melts then it is not a mineral.
Conclusion for alternative communication systems during diasaters?
what is mean by diasaters Natural disasters are often frightening and difficult for us to understand, because we have no control over when and where they happen. What we can control is how prepared we are as communities and governments to deal with the dangers that natural disasters bring.
Places that are more likely to have natural disasters, such as the earthquake-prone Pacific Ring of Fire, or coastal areas vulnerable to hurricanes, require accurate methods of predicting disasters and warning the public quickly. Once the people have been informed, evacuation routes must be provided so that they can all leave quickly and safely, even if they travel by foot. Emergency warnings and evacuation plans are not enough, though. Where there is a high risk of earthquakes, buildings need to be strong and... (more)
There are numerous good cell phones on the market as of 2014. Some of the best cell phones are the iPhones, Samsung Galaxy S5, and the Razor.
He could be telling the truth, but if this were to happen again phone the #! Ask who it is, and ask this person why they are calling. Don't accuse them of anything in case it is work related, but if she is seeing your boyfriend she will have great joy in telling you on the phone. Your boyfriend has no control over anyone calling him on his cell, and since he didn't erase the call off his cell phone he doesn't appear he is hiding anything unless he doesn't know how to erase his calls. I think by now he gets the idea that you are onto him. Don't let this one call ruin your relationship because sometimes some people do tell the truth. Just take it slow and easy and keep your eyes and ears wide open. Good luck Marcy
