You are experiencing some lower back and abdominal pain as well as leg cramps What could this be?

You don't mention how close you are to your period or if you just had one. From what you wrote it sounds like PMS to me. I had these symptoms all my life just before my period and a bit after. There are things you can do to help with these symptoms. First, cut out caffeine and sugars, take B6, and when the cramps start put a heating pad on the small of your back. Hot tea may also help and a over the counter pill called Mitol.

Can an ultrasound show if you are a virgin?

A pelvic exam can't determine if you have had sexual contact. It can tell if your hymen is intact, but that doesn't dtermine if you've had sex.

What do you call the event when the egg implant in the uterus wall?

Implantation. This occurs 6 to 12 days after conception and is when the hormone hCG begins to rise.

I am five months pregnant and i keep getting really bad headaches what could cause that or is it a worry?

Headaches in pregnancy are very common. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and getting enough rest, sometimes when youre body gets very tired a headache can be a sign. Also if you take any medication for the headaches make sure that you only take acetamenaphin. (Tylenol) Aspirin and Ibuprofen can hurt your baby.

Why is my uterus a little larger than normal?

Because there's a baby in there making it bigger.

Do womens breast get longer as they get older?

No, as you get older your breast tissue becomes tender and the skin isn't as elastic as before and then gravity starts taking its place.

How can your parents check to see if you are a virgin?

If you haven't had sex (penis in vagina), you are a virgin. If you have had sex, you are not a virgin. PERIOD. There isn't really anything to check. Sometimes your hymen will break when you first have sex, but sometimes it does for other reasons (exercise, etc...). This is NOT the determining factor.

Why can't a mammogram and an ultrasound detect a lump in your breast?

Mammograms and ultrasounds only detect cancerous lumps.. or lumps that have cancer.

Mammograms and Ultrasounds can detect benign lumps/masses in the breast, Mammograms are unable to distinguish the difference if something is solid or cystic, so an ultrasound is used in conjunction with a mammogram.

Does it necessarily pain when the hymen breaks?

Yes and no. I believe generally, the hymen has been broken long before a girl has sex. And generally, she has already begun her period before sexual intercourse, and has taken to using condoms. It is something larger than a condom being put into an area that is still quite tight that can be uncomfortable.

If there is a small single red bump on the labia minora and it hurts to touch and is sore what could it be?

You may want to seek medical attention. Usually this could just be a pimple or an in-grown hair, but it could be something else that is minor, like a small cyst, especially if it has been around for awhile. Make an appointment with your Gynecologist or Primary Care Physician for evaluation. In the meantime, make sure you're using good hygiene, like washing that region with water and a mild soap daily, wearing loose fitting underwear and clothing, and not applying any products that could irritate the bump.

Can you still pee with a tampon in?

Yes, you can still urinate while you're wearing tampons. Tampons go into your vagina, and you urinate from your urethra - they are two completely different holes. If you're using tampons with a string it's a good idea to move the tampon string out of the way so that it doesn't get wet, as it can be unhygienic and uncomfortable to walk around with a wet tampon string. It's a good idea to try to time changing your tampon with urination, just so you don't spend all your time in the bathroom.

Why do you have a brown discharge?

That probably IS your period, the blood isn't usually red... It often comes out in the form of a brownish discharge, especially if you're young or on birth control.

Is breast cancer a leading cause of death in women?

First answer (I'm not sure that this addresses the question):

The treatment here in the US is barbaric. Cut and burn is what they do in the US. Look to go to another country that 'thinks outside' the box in terms of treating breast cancer and you can get your cancer treated and get to keep your breasts too!

Second answer:

The odds of surviving breast cancer are much better than surviving cancers at most other site locations. Pancreatic cancer victims, for example, have just a 5% chance of survival. However, there are far more breast cancer cases than most other site locations (except prostate cancer), so deciding how deadly it is takes a bit of analysis and a bit of philosophy. Does "deadly" refer to the total number of deaths or to how likely one is to die once they have become afflicted? Each person must decide that individually.

The Information Please Almanac's compilation of data from the American Cancer Society, U.S. National Institutes of Health, and National Cancer Institute tells us the 5 year survivability rate for breast cancer in the US is 90% for whites, and 77% for blacks. I'm estimating this means (.87* .9 + .13 * .77 = ) 88% overall. Early detection and treatment is key. In 2007 there were 180,510 estimated new cases of breast cancer about 1% of whom were men. That means that over the next 5 years, if survival rates remain unchanged, approximately 21,661 (12%) of these people will die of the condition.

Comparatively, lung cancer has a 15/12% white/black 5 yr survival rate est. 14% overall. In 2007, there were 213,380 new cases of lung cancer. That means 183,506 of these people are likely to die of lung cancer over the next 5 years. That is 8.5 times the number of people that will die of breast cancer and more than the total number of new breast cancer cases surviving or not. But the largest killer is heart disease. Heart disease killed 631,636 persons in 2006 including 315,930 women - more than half of the total and 14.6 times the number of all breast cancer deaths (men & women).

So, how deadly is breast cancer? The rest is an individual and philosophical decision. Chances are if you had a family member that died of breast cancer you'll say it is "very" deadly. If you had a family member that died of cancer at another site location or heart disease you're likely to wonder what all the breast cancer hoopla is about.

Why are my Right foot and right hand tingling?

i dont know my stomach is warm 2 and my hand tingles somtimes

If you popped your cherry with a tampon will sex still hurt?

You do not have a cherry and nothing pops.

You may have a hymen and this is tissue that surrounds the vaginal opening, it normally doesn't cover much of the vaginal opening so a tampon can typically fit through without problem - the hymen is also flexible so will stretch to accommodate things far larger than a tampon without tearing. The hymen typically only tears if there is forced or rough penetration, a tampon is unlikely to cause damage to the hymen, even if torn pain is minimal as there's little in the way of nerve endings in the hymen itself - although if penetration is rough or forced you are also likely to damage other areas of the vagina and/or vulva which could cause you pain. As for 'hurt more', it depends...more than what?

What should you do if you haven't had your period for more than a month?

I would call my doctor. I had a miscarriage at about that point in my pregnancy and they ended up doing a D&C to make sure everything got cleaned out. Not that a D&C is something you want to ruch into as it can leave scaring, but it might be good to have a doctor allerted because if you get a fever or excess pain or I don't know what else, they might want/need to do one. You wouldn't want to get infected.
