Maybe, but not now and not from the source you might think, the closest thing in the virus department is the rabies virus and we have that under control, so the likelihood of a zombie apocalypse from a virus is not high, now parasites. That's another matter and threat that's much closer. Science has discovered many new brain parasites, mostly in jungles. These parasites only feed off of insects butt could possible be transferred to humans. Most of the parasites control your body but partially shut off your brain, creating a zombie. But this will fail for several reasons, the first being that the animals the parasites live off of are very tiny. These animals have lower IQ, and a smaller system to take over whereas a human has high IQ, cognitive skills, etc. Will be much harder to infect, and two, most parasites target specifically that animal. You see, humans have not interacted with the jungles these parasites live in due to national and international law. The lack of humans with only a few tribes, makes the parasites not adopted to a human body and mind whatsoever. So maybe if parasites have enough time to adapt to us but no. not today.

Silent can be good, though bear in mind that many zombies seem to sense the presence of humans whether you are making noise or not.
