The filter lives behind the block - it's easeir that it sounds to get to though. Take off the air intake pipe and resonator box (that the pipe connects to), follow it back and you'll see two clips - these hold the two parts of the airbox together. Unclip the electrical connector and open the box to reveal the air filter.
To reset your service light here are the steps.
1. Get in your car and shut the door.
2. Put your key in the ignition
3. Turn your ignition key to position 1
4. Push in your Odometer reset button and hold it in while holding it move the ignition key to position 2 while holding down the odometer reset button.
5. After couple of seconds of holding the button down and the key in position 2 your service light will start to blink once that happens let go of the reset button and start the car.
This should reset your service light and a service light on your Volvo C/S/V70 cars from 1999 onwards.
if you cannot pull the cable with pliers then you must go for the bonnet catch it self. i find the eastiest way is to use a long screw driver from the ground up. it takes time but it is the only way. (if yoe have front grill access even better}
Turn the ignition on then disconnect the battery.hi to all Renault clio 2001 immoboliser probs light wont go of try this........ open your key now take out the green board now place the key in the ignition don't turn now place that green board back on its place and turn ur key and see if the light goes off if it don't try this for a few times it goes off,, contact me at poizen2005@yahoo.com tell me it it works
You need the radio code first. Check your docs or contact a Renault dealer. When you have them and the console display asks for the code turn the thumb wheel on the satelite control stick on steering column. When you get the first number push the button under the wheel. Do this until all four numbers are set, you should get a bleep and the radio should work.
Radio Code you can find in the service book. Search for the symbols C.A.R and four digits near must be a code.
1: You need to clear the particle filter and 2: You need to check your ignition.
Scroll through the trip computer until you get to the "change oil soon message/miles to next service" displayed.
Press and hold the mileage trip reset button on the speedo until the display flashes, and then stays fixed. This can take a few seconds.
Job done!
Whatever you do, don't pay a dealer to do it. Halfords did mine (Dynamique, not scenic, but I believe they do Scenic's also) for less then £3. If you try and do it yourself you could spend hours trying and failing.
sell the car
Its bad news mate definetly not for the faint hearted, you need to remove the subframe from the bottom and drop the complete engine and gearbox from there sounds simple ? not really nuts and bolts are put in the most awkwerd places, if you got air con it gets even more fun. i just changed a clutch on one and its been a somewot of a nightmare, we did try to lift from the top as this can be acheived but it turned easyer to go down. once you got there the rest is simple as far as changing the gearbox is concerned. sorry to be the bearer of bad news mate but i just had to do it my self jason
Easy to find. Remove the large grey plastic cover from the top of the engine, and the long rectangular filter is housed in the black rectangular box on top of the engine.
It's a bit fiddly to try to split the air cleaner housing on the car, it's easier to disconnect the hoses and remove it completely.
The housing splits after removing a a few self tapping screws.
Hope this helps.
This happened on my Laguna with the electronic parking brake.
It transpired that it was the Clutch Position Sensor had gone.
Fortunately, mine was still under a warranty from the dealer, so they paid for it, but it looks like an easy enough job if you get the part and have some tools...
Right at the bottom of the sump, you will know for sure as it has a square drive hole in it. A proper socket will have to be bought to undo it
Just a thought you can ( I do ) use the square bar that goes through the door between the door handles this is the perfect size ( in the UK anyway ) alot cheaper :D
stick a stick in it
