Be it a virtual or real-world community, there are many ways you can help make your community a better place, including:
You can find a list of fatalities on Mount Hood on the website of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office or by searching news archives for specific incidents. Additionally, the American Alpine Club's Accidents in North American mountaineering publication may provide detailed information on some incidents.
You can find a list of phobias on websites dedicated to mental health and psychology, in books about anxiety disorders, or on websites of organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association. There are also specialized resources like the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) that list and categorize phobias.
When for whatever reason, you need to take some time off in Community Outreach, you simply post that you'll be away for a while in the Community Outreach forum thread entitled "I'll Be Back!" Your status will remain as an active WikiGuide.
The Community Outreach Program was developed to reach out to the community in various ways in helping to create a warm and friendly community atmosphere.
The early Christians did not expect people to come to them to hear the Gospel; they went out to share with all who would receive. We have no right to expect or insist that people come to church to hear the good news of Jesus, so we must share the Gospel with people where THEY are. Therefore, we need to be involved with the community at large.
All US Presidents become world famous just from having the honor of holding the Office of the US Presidency, the most powerful leader of the world. He also is appreciated and well known for his international relations, work for peace, and the foreign policy of his Administration.
Activities in the Community Outreach program include community actions performed by the WikiGuides such as greeting new contributors, delivering special occasion greetings, new supervisor congratulations and much more.
For information about our WikiAnswers Community Outreach Program and becoming a WikiGuide, please send your request and email address to communityoutreach @ wikianswers.com (remove the spaces).
The point of being a WikiGuide is to be able to work in a group of like-minded people at helping to create and maintain a warm and friendly community environment. One person can only do so much....but a group of people can do so much more.
Any badge you earn on WikiAnswers will replace your contributor badge, as your new badges will show you are a contributor.
Previously a user had to have 100 contributions by asking, answering, or editing questions and message board posts did not go towards that 100 contributions needeed to meet the requirment. Currently the only requirement to join the Community Outreach program is you have to be at least 13 years old. All you need to do to join is to send your request and email address to communityoutreach @ wikianswers.com (remove the spaces). There is no required number of contributions you need to join now.
There are different contributions that you would expect from different stakeholders in the community. This may include security by the relevant authorities, upholding morality by religious institutions and so much more.
