The ABS light and the ETS light on my 1998 Cavalier stay on after it is startedwhy is that?
I am having the same problem and sometimes it stalls my car. It started shaking a lot when i tried to turn it on this morning and i had to pump the gas a few times, i read this.
I would have a mechanic remove each ABS sensor, using an external torx wrench, and clean it with a spritziled rag (don't use compressed air). Should be a very simple job. See if this solves the problem before doing anything else.
My experience with other people, who have had the ETS light come on, is that it often indicates a weak ignition system. Begin by replacing the platinum spark plugs with the exact ACDelco plugs that came in the car (likely Part No. 41-928). Also, replace the fuel filter.
Why is the ABS light blinking on your 1993 Chevy Cavalier Rs Wagon?
Your ABS light may be on because you are low on brake fluid. Another reason the light may be on is because your brakes are failing.
What do you do if your 91 Chevy cavalier spills coolant into your floor board?
Sounds like heater core is leaking and needs to be replaced You probably have a leak in the heater coil of the air conditioning system. You can either get the coolant flow to the heater coil shut off (cheapest) and get along without heat in the car, get the heater coil repaired (iffy), or get it replaced (maybe get a used part from an auto salvage yard.
How do you change a wiper motor on a 1989 cavalier?
Look for the "clip" located at the bottom of the wiper blade. Push down the clip and slide the blade off the wiper arm. Bend the wiper arm inside out, to avoid the metal part grazing the windshield. Fix the new blade and wipe with a clean rag. This is to avoid getting debris on the windshield. Hook the new blade correctly on the wiper arm, listen for a clicking sound. Wiggle for good measure to ensure that it is firmly fixed.
Where is turn signal flasher for 94 Cavalier?

Where is the heater core in a 1992 Cavalier?
Most heater cores are behind the dashboard around the glovebox. Follow the in/out lines from the radiator to the firewall, it may even be on the firewall itself. Follow the lines and you'll find it, good luck.
A coolant leak on a 93 cavalier could be anyplace where coolant flows. Check all hoses, connections, the radiator, and heater core for any possible leak spots.
Why would a 1999 Chevy Cavalier not start?
I have a 99 Chevy Cavalier and I've had SO many problems with it. My head gasket blew a few years ago (when the car was still relatively new but not under warranty anymore)....cost over $1000 to fix. Just a few weeks ago the alternator went and then a week or two after that the battery died
smokingallowed say's...There are several things to check but the answer lies with either fuel or fire...First answer guy is sad that his alternator and battery lasted 12 years...(sigh)

- Where is the radiator drain plug on a 2004 Chevy Cavalier?
There isn't one, you have to take off the lower radiator hose.
There are many possible reasons. You need to start by checking-
1. coolant level- If it is low, refill and recheck. There might be a coolant leak and you can get the system pressure checked, could be a blow head gasket. Coolant has a smell that is unique, if you smell something check for drip marks under the car after being parked. A leak from the radiator, hoses, temp sensor will usually have a residue/color stain.
2. check to see if the fan is working- a blow fuse/relay/motor if it is electric. If it has a clutch, check for clutch leaking fluid. It should have resistance when manually spinning when the engine is off.
3. check for debris in the grill radiator, blockage will reduce air flow.
4. Is the check engine light on? Have the codes read, it can diagnose sensor faults, misfires, blow head gasket.
5. Has the thermostat ever been replaced? with the engine warm, check the coolant return hose to radiator is warm, be careful if you have a mechanical fan. If the engine is at or above normal operating temperature and the hose is not hot the thermostat is stuck closed.
What does it mean when your radiator starts steaming while it is running?
If it's the RADIATOR that's steaming it probably means that you have a leaky radiator. If the cap is steaming it might just mean that you need to replace the radiator cap, but it could mean that the engine is overheating. Check the coolant level and make certain that you do not see evidence of leakage anywhere around the engine or radiator. After the engine has cooled, look for light green powder around the edges of the radiator and around the water pump. This is evidence of leakage.
Where is the PVC valve located on a 1993 22ltr 4-cylinder Cavalier?

Why will my Range King lawn mower not stop running when the safety lever on the handle is released?

How do you replace fan sensor relay?
I'm about to change mine, first of all make sure that your fan is operating. You will look beside the radiator shroud on the pass. side. There is a plug with 2 wires, cut away from the side of the (blue wire) enough to expose the copper wire. Jump a wire to the + pos. battery post and make contact with the exposed wire leading out of the fan. The fan should come on, use a heavier gage wire to do this test. If the fan is working and your instrument temp. gage is registering you can now move onto the next step. If the temp. guage is not working you need to look at the fan switch which is located on top of the thermostat housing a brass looking thing with a plug on it. Now for the big one, unfortunately this fan relay is well hidden, I don't know why, maybe to have people get it done at the dealer, $$$. You will have to take off the front Bumper and the grill off of your vehicle. You will find the switch sitting along the chasis rail. Haven't gotten to do mine yet, but the switch cost me about $75. at the dealer. the relay is located under passenger side head lamp. you can remove the head lamp and abot 3-4 inches up you can drill a hole into the plastic. look through this hole to see the relay it has two small screws holding it down 5/16 head. looking at the relay you can bes where to drill lager holes to use a 1/4 drive extention and a swivel socket to un bolt it. remove relay from inside the engine compartment plug in new relay and slide it back into postion, note there is a small tab on the back of relay that will fit into a hole this needs to be in the correct spot. use trim adhesive or somthing else that is sticky to hold screws to socket "a magnetic socket is usefull" to install the screws. use masking tape tapped to the underside of headlamp housing then use a silicone to fill the holse so the new relay is protected from water and road salt. this is a lot faster and cheaper than disasembling the fron facia.
I'm no car guy so my descriptions aren't great, but I just changed mine so I know this one. On the 1999 2.2 engine it's located inside the hose that connects your coolant reservor and your radiator collant intake. If you stand in the middle of the frount of your car its low and just left of center (close to the very frount probably by your left leg). You disconnect the hose held on by two small bolts and all the collant will come flooding out. PLEASE put something under the car before doing this! After you get the hose off you just pull out the old one. put a new seal on the new one and replace it. Jack up the front of the car or park it facing up hill to replace all that coolant. it will take a couple gallons.
