Clowns are only considered evil because of films like IT. It is strange how this one movie has effected the perception of a once favoured kids entertainer. Because of this movie one can definitely see why so many people picked up on the "evil" aspect. I do not believe that ANY history shows clowns as evil before the Steven King hit movie.

YES!!! Technically, the trapeze is competitive because if you have a trapeze competition, you have to be competitive and have a good routine. What about dance? Dance is a sport! So yes, trapeze is a sport. A sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. no - it is defined as an 'aerial art' ie is considered an performance art form along with dance etc. Also a 'circus art'. It is not considered a sport like gymnastics, however I would say the static trapeze combines dance and gymnastic/acrobatics and flying trapeze is more acrobatic. Sport tends to be competitive - trapeze is never competitive.

A Clown is a entertainer (Usually for kids) who dresses up in bright clothes, big shoes and usually wears wig or a oversized/undersized hat.

Makeup: Whiteface Clowns wear a full white face with a red nose and red highlighted cheecks. Auguste Clowns wear whit only around their eyes and sometimes their mouth and have rouge colored faces. Hobo Clowns are rugged looking with a beard and a red nose and white around the mouth and eyes to represent soot being wiped away.

Types of Clowns: The Whiteface is the leader of the pack (the boss) , the Auguste is the crazy/silly clown who always gets things wrong and the hobo is the one everyone feels sorry for but is full of life.

Circus Clowns: There clowns entertain in the circus and work as a group
Private Party Clowns: These are your kids party clowns and they have skills such as magic shows, balloons and face painting
Buskers: These clowns walk around and make fools of themselves

I believe a circus swing is the big multiperson swing that performers use to launch each other into acrobatic tricks. It has no catch point, so they can spin it an entire 360 degrees. Mythbusters did an episode on swinging 360 degrees and could only do it on one of these.

To do a flying trapeze act you must have a trapeze rig and a group of flyers trained to do tricks that can be thrown to a catcher. It can be however long you want it to be. A flying trapeze show is fun to watch if the flyers are wearing costumes.
