I love my cast iron skillets. After they have been cured (blanched?) they must be maintained by keeping them oiled. If the oven is still hot after cooking I coat them with oil and let them sit in there until the oven and pan have cooled. This keeps them for the next time I need them. If you make things that are acidic (like spaghetti sauce) in them it will remove the oil coating.

Wine vinegar may burn or leave an odd taste; white vinegar is the only vinegar that can also be used for cleaning.

If they are not too bad here's what you do:

Mix about 1:6 white vinegar and water (one part white vinegar to 6 parts water) in a spray bottle. Add a small amount of joy or dish washing liquid to the mix. Spray the class, let sit for a few minutes. It should come clean.

If it needs more work, you may use a 000 steel wool. It will not scratch the glass and aid in the removal process.

Probably the most direct way to remove a tobacco stain from a mustache would be to cut off the hair, stop using tobacco, and regrow the mustache. An alternative would be to stop using tobacco and let the stained hair grow out, trimming as appropriate. Eventually there will be no stain left.

I would caution that vinegar is an acid and could pit your silver teapot, especially if it is silverplated. if it is on a burner and you can tolerate a few hours of stinkiness, I have found turning the burner on high for a few minutes will essentially burn it off. It is then easy to remove with a scrub pad and/or steel wool. Steel wool may work well without the burning phase..........
