Draw some ovals coming off of the handle, then a single shape that has to do with what you are basing it off of. # Add color and design and it looks great. Now come up with a name that has something to do with whatever it is based on.

Draw from people in motion, not in still poses. Draw from TV, at the coffee shop, etc... Also, look at your paper less and more at the subject. Third, blast out hundreds of quickies. Don't concern yourself with details. Just nail the complete figure and move on. (If you want to slow down, draw with your non-dominant hand.)
