If one goes to study in Australia in how many years will he or she become a permanent resident?
This is what I'm wanting to do as well. The way I understand it, first you're going to need a student visa and official acceptance at school/university in Australia. Once you get there, to work 20 hours a week, you'll need to apply for permission to work on the student visa (just a formality and extra small payment). You really didn't ask all of that, but that's what you need to do to get to Australia to study. After you've graduated/completed your studies, you then have to apply for a visa via Australia's skilled migration program. You have 6 months after you successfully complete your studies to do so, in which case you will be exempt from the work history requirement (you must study in Australia for at least two years to be exempt from this requirement), but you will still be assessed for the skills you should've gotten while studying (that is, the occupation you list on your residency/work visa). I don't think there's a guarantee that you will get a work/resident visa, but if you're completing a university degree in Australia, I think it's much more likely that you will get the work visa. This makes you a resident, if you are applying from within Australia. Then you need to live in Australia for the next 2 years (two out of the last five years) to apply for Australian citizenship. Two good links: http://www.immi.gov.au/study/extending/index.htm That one covers different ways to try to extend your study in Australia during or after studying there. And this link: http://www.australearn.org/ A very good site that can help you with attending an Australian university as an international student. Good luck, and I hope you wish me the same!
How do you stay in England after your visa expires?
After the term of your visa expires you are expected to leave and return to your own country from whence you came under The immigration Acts 1971 and 1988 which is in place to control immigration into the United Kingdom.Failure to leave the UK on or before the expiry date of your visa will result in a deportation order being issued for you.Once a deportation order has been issued you are permitted to apply to the immigration appeal tribunal to be allowed to stay here in the UK,if you lose the appeal you will be kept in the custody of the immigration and personally escorted out of the UK,unless you can prove that your life or the lives of your family would be in immediate danger should you be deported back to whence you came,if this is the case you should apply to the immigration office before the expiration of your visa and not overstay your welcome so that you force them to deport you,as overstaying your visa is a criminal offence and is punishable in a court of law.
What are Advantages and disadvantages of quota system?
The arguments for the quota system are that new immigrants are a threat to the future, New immigrants are difficult to integrate, little land remains for immigrants, American society will be strained by clashes of cultures.
Againtst quota system would be that immigrants are not a threat, The languege barrier does not imply menta inferiority, They will be lured by the oppurtunity in America and will work hard.

What are the obligations of an employer to sponsor an alien for a work visa?
I think this blog explains what employers should expect when dealing with green cards and work visas. There are so many implicaitons and responsibilities when hiring someone with a visa or green card. This blog helped shed some light...

well, the Immigration office will deny your paperworks because you dont have proof of a bona fide marriage, especially if you guys dont live together. Immigration office would need proof like joint bank account, joint health insurance, any children that you have together. I would suggest that you live together.
im sorry, but that question does not make sense, they do not "forgive" anything if you marry a citizen, no matter how the citizen abtained citizenship. I am a American citizen, and I am white, I was born in Washington state. I married a Mexican immigrant, we have been together for 7 years, and we have a child that was also born in Washington state, However, they will not let my husband live in the U.S. even though he is not a criminal, and our child and myself are totaly dependant on his income, and I am disabled and cannot care for my son and myself without him. This is a common misconception among Americans-that if an illegal immigrant gets married to a citizen, they have a right to become a citizen- However, it is just not true.
Should a legal immigrant book their appointment for a H4 visa interview before they get married?
That should be discussed with the immigration officials, as setting the date for the interview before the marriage may result in the application status having to be amended. Although the green card bestows permanent resident status to the entire life time of a person, it has to be renewed every 10 yrs. File in form I-90, 6 months before the expiry of the card. Conditional Residents cannot renew their greencard. They need to remove those conditions before the expiry of their conditional status.

Can an illegal immigrant with an expired visa work with an individual tax identification number?
NO, it is unlawful for the illegal alien to be present in the country. It is unlwaful for any employer to knowingly hire an illegal alien. The illegal alien should immediately leave the country if he/she wants to comply with the law.
I am a US citizen. How can I help my mother get a tourist visa in Guatemala?
Your mother has to show consular officials- to their satisfaction, that she will return back to her country. There isn't much you can personally do, as the visa process would be carried out in Guatemala, not here in the U.S.
Does twenty five percent Italian still make you Italian?
Ehehehh i really don't know, but don't think so. But makes you Italian if you are interested about Italian language and politics. I think :)

Are illegal immigrants harming America?
Yes, because they raise our health care costs being uninsured. They get free medical and dental that we Americans have to pay for. They take jobs away from Americans. They live virtually tax free except for sales tax on what they buy because they don't claim taxes like we do. Their baby's are born here illegally then become citizens because they were born on American soil and continue to get medical and dental for free. They don't mind coming here illegally but they don't pay like the rest of us and then to boot they send back American made dollars back to their country for the rest of the family to come here illegally too. If they paid the same as we do then I wouldn't have a problem with it but they don't.
NO THEY DONT PUTO. THEY ARE PERFECTING IT. I BET U LIKE UR VEGITABLES DONT U WELL GUESS WHO GROWS THEM PINCHE MAL COJIDO. BITMIRA PERRO IF AN ILLEGAL GETS A JOB U APLIED FOR HOW BAD WAS UR INTERVIEW? HE OR SHE JUST SAT THERE AND SMILED! IF UR QUALIFIED TO GET A JOB THEN U WILL GET A JOB! AND IF U WANT ILLEGALS TO STOP CROSSING BUILD BETTER FENCES!!!
I must say that I agree. An overwhelming percentage of our products both consumable and non-consumable come from other countries. This country's function is solely based on the lives of immigrants from around the world. Everyone has a chance to improve their lives. Be honest with yourself and take a good look at your background; the original immigrants were the pilgrims and look at the horrors committed against mankind. If you truly are against illegal immigration, then I would suggest that you dispose of all your possessions and food so that your point be made loud and clear. Only the illegal immigrants that do not contribute to the well being of this country should be imprisoned. I haven't heard anyone complain about how the illegal immigrants should not join the military to fight the war. I haven't heard anyone protest about how the U.S. goes to other countries looking for support.
To the person a couple entries above, learn how to spell. Illegal immigrants are bad for our country, end of story.
No they are not:
point blank illegal immigrants are not harming this country! This country has made it so far because of illegal immigrants. It's very funny how now illegal immigration is a BIG problem when back then it wasn't at all a big deal, seeing as they did the jobs American Citizens didn't want to do. Just because Illegal immigrants are smart enough to take any job they need to make some money doesn't mean they're hurting out country, it just means they are willing to work hard not like some lazy Americans. Now do yourself a favor, go through your family history and see where (not only you but) where your family came from, really go back and see where there truly came from, and you will find out the surprising, at least ONE member of your family must have been an illegal immigrant.
yes they are:
you cannot compare this to back to the begging of the 1900s because it is a completely different situation; for one the majority of immigrants that came to the U.S. became citizens when they got here, they also had a great respect for this country because it gave them a new start so they wanted to learn our language, do their best to follow our laws, and truly become "American". It is only half true that they did the jobs we didn't want to do because these were new jobs that needed to be filled, also at that time most American were farmers and already had jobs but some of these farmers did move to the city for the jobs "we" didn't want, this was called the Urbanization Movement, so technically not just immigrants took these new jobs. Now we have illegal immigrants coming to this country, they do not become citizens mostly because it cost so much, but unlike the immigrants of the 1900s. These people do not respect us for what we provide them, they use or services such as healthcare, 911, schools, roads, and federal aid all with the taxes that we pay and they don't, most refuse to learn our language or follow our rules. They do take jobs that most Americans would not take, but how do we know that? There and millions of AMERICANS out there who would love to have a job but those jobs are not there because immigrants are in their spot.
NO WAY!! How the heck do they steal jobs? do they hold you at gun point and say "GIVE ME YOUR JOB" ??? THAT IS SO STUPID. I am an American woman married to an Mexican man and he pays to go to the doctor, pays taxes just like everybody else. your an idiot if you think just because they are Mexican they get off for free! In fact its harder for Mexicans to get jobs, just because of their color! just because your lazy and on welfare means they stole your job? most immigrants work they're butts off, while the majority of Americans are sitting at home watching t.v. on welfare! what, just because theyre immigrants they're not aloud to use 911? their kids are not aloud to got to school? or use our roadways? that's stupid!!! Theyre blood is the same color as ours, they are HUMANS JUST LIKE US!

If an asylee married a US citizen how long would it take to become a US citizen?
You would first have to apply for a green card then three years later apply for citizenship based on marriage. This process will most likely take you about four years.
