What is the major disagreement between israel and Palestinians?

If the intended phrasing was Israelis and Palestinians (i.e. both groups of people), there are an incredible number of disagreements between the Israelis and Palestinians and I invite you to read more about them here. If I had to choose the most important of those disagreements, it would be that both Israelis and Palestinians wish to each create a sovereign nation where they have power to create a dominant religious/secular, cultural, and legal systems and are unwilling to cede to the other specific key areas of the territory that would be requisite for that.

However, the question specifically phrases it as Israel and the Palestinians, (i.e. Israel as country or the government of that country and Palestinians as a group of people). The Israeli government has no issues with Palestinians per se; there are over 1.6 million Palestinian citizens of Israel and around 300,000 Palestinian permanent residents. The Israeli government, however, has a vested interest in keeping Israel as a state with a Jewish majority in order to preserve its identity and so the desire that the worldwide 11 million Palestinian population has to live in the lands under Israeli sovereignty necessarily threatens that goal. This results in antagonism between the Palestinians and the Israeli government, which has come to blows at several points in the history of Israeli-Palestinian relations.

Why is Israel's government influenced by the religion?

How would you know if you are descended from the 12 tribes of Israel?

A:

If you are descended from any of the twelve tribes of Israel, you would be Middle Eastern in appearance - brown skin, brown eyes and dark hair, as well as probably having a prominent nose.

Most Jews are likely descended, at least in part, from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. They could also be descended from any of the other tribes, because many of the Israelites fled south into Judah at the time of the Assyrian conquest in 722 BCE.

Many of the Israelites were exiled by the Assyrians and gradually merged into thir host cultures. Today, their descendants would be among the Kurds, Lebanese, Syrians, Iraqis and Jordanians of the world.

Did the prophets foretell judgment in Israel?

They foretold both judgment and succor, among other topics. For example, many of the Israelite prophets foretold the First Destruction.

The Israelite prophets were extremely learned and pious individuals, both men and women, whose superlative level of piety merited them with visions from God. They had to be humble, yet speak with authority. They had to love their people, yet not hesitate to rebuke with caustic words if commanded to by God. (See: Why did the Prophets rebuke? And see: Why did some people not listen to them?)
The prophets were called upon by God to guide the people and to guide the king. While the king had authority in national matters of state, and the Sanhedrin (Sages) had say in Torah-rulings and halakha (law), the prophets spoke in matters of ethics, of belief, of loyalty to God, and behavior. They rebuked the people at God's command, they predicted events which God revealed to them, they taught through Divine inspiration, and they provided optimism and hope with the prophecies of eventual Redemption.

Some of the prophetical chapters (or books) detail Israelite history and past events, some exhort the people to improve their spiritual level, some predict events and/or warn (especially concerning the First Destruction), some serve to comfort the nation, some speak of prayer and love of God, and some speak of life, experience and wisdom.

Did US troops fight for Israel in the Arab-Israeli War of 1973?

U.S. troops have never fought in any Israeli war, except during the first Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon when they "escorted" Israeli troops out of Lebanon The U.S. only began selling weapons to Israel after there victory in the Yom Kippur war. How safe is Haifa?

Haifa is a safe city. It is one of the most liberal cities in the State of Israel. One of the few cities where Jews and Arabs get along.

Israel itself is safe. Yes, Israel does have bombings every now and then. Recently, the number of bombings have gone down due to high security measures. Bombings can happen anywhere though. Remember 9/11? Remember the underwear bomber? Remember the New York Times Square bomber? Okay, the last 2 don't really count, but that comes to show you that it can happen anywhere.

Anyways, Israel overall is one of the few countries in the middle east where you can walk the streets at night without worrying about getting kidnapped by bandits or killed. So with that said, Haifa, is a safe city. ;)
