What is the best reading program for dyslexics?

To remediate dyslexia, studies have found that a program that is based on Orton-Gillingham is the best. This approach goes back to the very basics; teaching individual sounds, blends, rules, etc. It is multisensory and repetitive. Sound Reading is a program that works well to correct the glitches in auditory processing that make reading so hard for dyslexic students. By building up the basic auditory processing skills like phonemic awareness, students learn the skills they need to learn. You can find more about Sound Reading at www.SoundReading.com and more about phonics instruction under the How It Works tab. Other programs are the Wilson & Barton Programs. Most Wilson programs are done by trained teachers in the schools, whereas the Barton Method is usually done by trained tutors (outside of school). There are many other fine programs out there, including my own: A Reading Program for Overcoming Dyslexia, by Cheryl Orlassino. This is a very affordable Orton-Gillingham based program that can be done at home by an untrained parent. Visit www.help4dyslexia.com for more information.

What was the Renaissance writing style?

The style in Harlem Renaissance's writing is based on three distinguishingstandards which are:

1-the protagonist:Usually a male protagonist who evolves in a social context. He is a dynamic character where everything is moving in parallel with him (setting/other characters presentation...)
2-the setting:The Harlem Renaissance novel is most of the time a biography. The telling of the story by the protagonist (which happens to be the writer) comes always as a flashback so as the "time" of the novel flows from past to present. As far as the "place" is concerned, the protagonist ,during his journey, moves from one place to another in a high complexity and density. The place has a great impact on the development of the main character in building his identity

3-the theme:The main theme in Harlem Renaissance writings in general is the telling of a personal story of a black protagonist who struggles in the confrontations with the white society seeking for his identity as a human being, and evolves and builds a new vision for the black man in a society equal to any other individual. NB: some black writers, such as Zora Neal Huston, deviated from the main theme that every proponent of the core of the Harlem Renaissance motto grasped and defended with a burning heart.

What are the pros and cons of books versus computers?

Let me start of by saying most of the advantages and disadvantages would greatly depend on the environment you require for you to focus when studying. Considering the average person some of the following advantages may apply:

1) For people who need noise free areas,the library is most definitely the place for you. Sometimes it may be a bit noisy but that only happens once in a long while in very few libraries.

2) The environment wiithin the library itself highly motivates as there will be alot of focused people who will be down to serious business and thus you will feel motivated to do likewise.

3) A proper library should have all the books you require thus you won't have to spend much time looking for the books you require.

4) You'll be able to use more than 2 books at the same time in a case where you need more information on certain topics.

fisrstly number 4 doent make any sense

5)Libraries provides employment opportunitie,some people are employed as librarians,cleaners,IT-Specialists etc

Is it called a lie when you refuse to answer a question that you know the answer to?

== ==

No. A lie is defined as: "to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive." [Reference www.m-w.com.] Refusing to answer, answering incorrectly (but believing that you are telling the truth), etc. does not constitute a lie.

Whether you want to see it as a 'lie', you're withholding information that someone else is asking for. It will be apparent to the other person that you're doing so and they'll have reason not to trust you. Technically, no. This is referred to as the sin of "ommission," a scenario in which you could have done something but didn't. It depends on the situation. If you are in court, or being asked by a police officer in many states, Lying by omission is a crime. If you're talking about in a personal relationship type scenario, and you tell only part of the truth, I think its still a lie, because you are being deceitful knowingly.
