Whatever happened to "dating, getting engaged, getting married, buying a house and having children?" I wonder where those old fashion traits went because since relationships have become more free with great abandon in the 60s relationships have gone down the tubes and divorce has more than tripled. It appears some people do things backasswards in this day and age with little commitment attached. Call me old fashioned, but getting married first, then saving and buying a house makes more sense than the other way around. At least you love each other and there is a commitment before buying such a big purchase. I think you've got it girl! Women really have to protect themselves financially and if you invest in this house (and I'm sure you work as hard as he does) and something goes wrong with your relationship and you split-up then he can demand to either buy out your half of the house or force you to sell and you'll have to split the cost. This happened to one of my girlfriends. She lost a lot of money, but managed to pay her ex off and kept the house. Sometimes it's the woman that completely loses out in court and ends up with nothing. You shouldn't feel fear in the fact that he'd think you are blackmailing him. Sit down one night and quietly tell him this, "You know, I really like to do things the right way and I prefer to get married and then start snooping around for a house, but you can both still save towards the house (BUT BE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR OWN ACCOUNT!") If he persists and can't see your side of things, then this guy isn't for you. Never be afraid of being an independent woman and looking after your own rights. Even though I am married to a wonderful guy and have been for 33 years, I save my money in my OWN ACCOUNT! It's my nest egg and there for a purpose. I am not being dishonest, told my husband about it and I'm just playing it safe. When we get our pay checks we pay the bills, put some away in a joint account, and we each get a type of allowance to do as we want. I put my mine in my own personal account. Iranians live with their parents until they get married, therefore they respect their parents' opinion a lot. However, this does NOT mean that parents make the decision for their marriages.

The traditional way that people find their mate is through some similar ways in American culture, such as blind date, and being set up with friends, relatives, and even families. Being set up by families is so common, and perhaps that is the reason of confusing it with arranged marriage. The persons spend some months to talk and being familiar with each other to make the decision.

The modern way of finding mates is through meeting at college or work place. Also, many young people make friends (boy friend and girl friend) and spent time on dating. However, this dating as friends is not accepted by religious persons.

So, Iranians have the choice to decide who is going to be their mate. Although, there might be some rare cases in rural places that have arranged marriage.

The truth about women is we are all individuals and from my own experiences of going from a young woman to 65 years old I have to say the average woman's sexual desires can go all over the place. I don't think it's abnormal at all. Of course sex is a part of a good relationship so it's a good thing to get a physical by your doctor to be sure all is well and don't be embarrassed to discuss this with him/her. You could well have a hormone imbalance or, thyroid problems. Hopefully you'll have a clean bill of health and then you have to take time for yourself and ask what it is that makes you not want to have sex. Is it your partner? Are they a lazy lover or want sex too often. Most women don't perform at the same speed men do and most women don't always want sex when the man wants too. That's the truth and I know a lot of women will deny it, but, it's just that ... "denial!" If you find there is something annoying you about your partner then you have to sit down and discuss it with him. Perhaps there isn't enough excitement in your lives; he could just have sex and roll over and go to sleep. You could be bored with each other and need to spice things up. I feel that if you don't think so much about sex (it's sort of like trying very hard to have a child and nothing happens) and you find other ways to enjoy yourself and keep active and learn to laugh and enjoy life then these things are more likely to occur. Communication with your partner is the key to all! If you sit around and mope about it then it could take forever. I wish you luck!

That is a tricky situation. If you are a strong person, it is possible to be there for her when she needs you, but chances are it will just confuse you and the situation at hand. I have been a long time friend of a man who was married for 20 years to another of my friends. I have always been attracted to him, but it has always been in check because of my respect for he and his wife. Then his wife ended up cheating on him and hurting the entire family. My friend has been trying to pick up the pieces. Needless to say, I became involved out of concern. That has now turned into something much more emotional for me. I may love him, but he is not able to return that love because of the emotional rollercoaster he is currently on....or at least I think that it would be confusing and maybe misplaced at this time. Do you want to be a rebound? Because chances are that until she heals from her current situation, she will never be able to make the choice without the confusion of her current situation.

Well when I had a job at a fast food place, we'd throw away unused buns every single night. Whenever it was my shift, I would take the buns home and then go out looking for homeless or needy people. That could be one way. Another way could just be to donate.

Believe it or not this is a very common problem with married couples who have children. Raising 4 children is very difficult at best, and your wife's life is very busy and exhausting. It's difficult for the wife to have another life when there are children. It doesn't matter how old your children are, the mother constantly worries about her children and they are still "her babies." Some mothers prefer to go out and work at least part-time so they can feel useful, help earn money for the household. Raising children isn't given near enough credit. So, think of this ... although I am sure you have your bad days at work, you still get to mingle with other people, feel you have contributed something and are trying hard to support your family. Your wife is chasing children around or worrying about teens, little time to be with friends, too exhausted to have people over, and also, if most women are honest they will admit that sex is the last thing on their mind when they are tired. Men on the other hand can "feel like it" any old time. I suggest, if you can, to make arrangements with someone in the family or a close and trusted friend to take your children for a week (if they are quite young or even if they are teenagers. Then sit down with your wife and plan out a vacation. Somewhere romantic and where she can just lay back and relax and be waited on. It's good for both of you. You don't have to go to Hawaii, etc., to do this and can find beautiful Bed & Breakfasts all over the place. Go near the ocean as it's so soothing. Perhaps take in some night life and dance your feet off. Either that or give her the choice to choose a girlfriend and pay for a nice mini holiday so she can get away from everything and put her feet up. There is also the possibility that your wife is into peri menopause or menopause. In peri menopause women's periods can fluctuate and they can get hot flashes, feel depressed and are very moody. With menopause a woman stops her periods and the old hormones do a real number on you. She may need to see the doctor as she could feel depressed, and needs some help adjusting those hormones. When you approach her about this be delicate about this. Tell her you love her, want to see her happy, but she has to talk to you so you can be there for her. I highly doubt your wifes moods are because she doesn't love you. She's tired, probably depressed and doesn't know what she wants out of life. Going back to work part-time or takes some classes at college may make her feel better. To her, you and the children have a life, and I bet she is feeling pretty left out. Keep trying to talk to her, and if she keeps refusing then get tough and tell her you love her, want to help her, but you can't live like this and won't put up with it. This may be enough to shock her into doing something to improve her own mood. Whatever you do, don't make this whole thing about sex. grant it im only 16 but i would tell him to back off and then when you get a new boyfriend just explain to them that your spiteful ex husband would try to slipt you two up just to make your life hell and if that guy trully cares he will battle this with you and obvisouly those previous men were losers because they believed him so just explain to the next boufriend whats going on and give it a try because your ex husband will soon get tired and lay off

I'm not sure, never been married and I'm a virgin (saving sex for marriage), but I don't think so, but would you really want to keep that secret from him your entire marriage. Listen if you tell him, and the guy still wants to marry you, he loves you, a ton! So tell him, don't keep that big of a secret from him.
