It was necessary to divide British India into two separate countries, India and Pakistan, because of the religious differences and disputes in the British colony. Hindus were concentrated in the middle while Muslims formed the majority in both the west and the east. To avoid conflict, two separate countries were created to separate the Hindus and the Muslims.
