Are there any places in the US that prohibit trick-or-treating?

This is funny:

It's against the law in Norfolk VA. to trick-or-treat after 8 p.m. or to do it if you're older than 12. Violations are Class 4 misdemeanors, punishable by a fine of up to $250. Thats the only thing I found but I hear most places want you to stop around 8 or 9pm but not enforced strongly. Hope that helps

Can Jehovah's Witnesses celebrate the Fourth of July?

Jehovah's Witnesses can not celebrate the 4th of July because they only celebrate weddings, anniversaries, and religiously-bound holidays (ex.- Christmas). The Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas. The only holidays they celebrate are what we non-JWs call the Lord's Supper. Jehovah's Witnesses view themselves as "no part of the world", as Jesus did when he was on the earth. (John 17:14) While they are citizens of current governments, and loyally obey the laws of the land when they do not conflict with God's Word the Bible, they do not believe that our salvation will come at the hands of governments of men. Therefore, why celebrate a tradition who's purpose is to promote a government instituted by men? What is more, the 4th of July celebration itself is a tradition celebrating America's "liberation". The holiday is therefore celebrating America as our salvation, whereas Jehovah's Witnesses look to Jesus as their savior.

Was there a regular ferry service between Germany and Sweden during World War 2?

Yes - at least for much of the war. From 1942 onwards there was also a regular scheduled air service between Britain and Sweden. All Red Cross mail and parcels between Britain and Germany were routed via Sweden. The neutral countries were very handy for that kind of thing! Joncey
