Woodpeckers dont eat wood, what they want are the insects inside. Get rid of the bugs and you will be rid of the birds. Woodpeckers and carpenter bees will make holes in soft untreated wood so paint or urethane would be another fix.

Answering this question is harder than it seems! There do not seem to be very many sources that give descriptions of the eggs themselves; most tend to focus on the actual bird. I can tell you that the Pileated Woodpecker and the Northern Flicker have the two largest sized eggs of any of the North American woodpeckers while the the Downy Woodpecker probably has some of the smallest eggs. Pigeons, Crows, Magpies, Jays, Rooks, Town Pigeons.

It depends on if your talking about domestic cattle or wild bulls. For domestic cattle if you are out in the country wolves, foxes, or any wild canine might prey on your calves. If you keep a close eye on your cattle and maybe have a dog outside to keep them away its all good.

But remember wolves and other canines aren't bad they just need to eat something because we are destroying their homes and food.

No one knows for sure, but the population has to be tiny, probably less than 2 birds.

Some of these species are worse off than others but one a big reason is that much of their habitat is being destroyed.
