Is Omoxicillin ever used for acne?

Actually, yes I am currently using that in combination with Tazorac .1 cream. I have a friend that used this exact same combo (he had worse acne than mine), and after 6 weeks it has cleared up, and he has since been clear for over a year.

Does Sprite cause acne?

Some people with sensitive skin can get acne if sugar gets onto their face, however for the most part things that you consume have less impact on acne than most people believe. Most acne that is triggered by food or drinks is caused by the actual food or drink getting directly onto the face (around your mouth or onto a hand that you later touch your face with).

You can check out www.Acne.com for a lot of answers. The text below was taking from the "what causes acne" section of their page: "It's not your fault. Contrary to popular belief, acne is not caused by anything you're doing --- what you eat, how often you wash your face or work out --- but by a combination of factors at work far beneath the surface of your skin.

A blemish begins approximately 2--3 weeks before it appears on your skin's surface. It starts in your sebaceous hair follicles --- the tiny holes commonly called pores. Deep within each follicle, your sebaceous glands are working to produce sebum, the oil that keeps your skin moist and pliable. As your skin renews itself, the old cells die, mix with your skin's natural oils, and are sloughed off. Under normal circumstances, these cells are shed gradually, making room for fresh new skin.

But sloughing is different for everyone. Some people shed cells evenly; some don't. Uneven shedding causes dead cells to become sticky, clumping together to form a plug --- much like a cork in a bottle. This plug, or comedo, traps oil and bacteria inside the follicle.

The plug traps oil and bacteria within the follicle, which begins to swell as your skin continues its normal oil production. Your body then attacks the bacteria with a busy swarm of white blood cells. The whole process takes 2--3 weeks, culminating in a pimple."

How can you tell the difference between a ear pimple and a keloid?

The often misunderstood"Keloid".

Well here's the skinny on "what it is" and "how it happens". A keloid is a grouping of disorganized skin cells formed in locations of injury where the surface tissue has been damaged or cut. Often referred to as "scar tissue", this tissue because of it's disorganised structure doesn't stretch ( if it does, it doesn't stretch as far as the surrounding normal tissue ). Deep burns, deep cuts and other more invasive injuries will form keloids to fill in the area of damage to protect the bodies inner workings.

Body piercings do not form keloids because the body is guarded from the outside by the jewellery in the piercing, so the body forms a "fistula*" (*a tube of skin ) this is actual organised skin cells that have the ability to stretch unlike scar tissue. Lumps and bumps beside the piercings are quite often called Keloids but this is a mistake made by most inexperienced body piercers ( generally due to a lack of further training and self education ). These bumps are another animal all together known as a "Hypertrophic Reaction".

Hypertrophic Reactions are just what the name infers a "reaction" generally a hypertrophic reaction can occur with any organs in or on the human body ( skin is an organ ). When they occur with a piercing, it's due to the application of an irritant ( generally the cleaner or disinfectant that has been recommended to clean and heal the piercing ). The application of this or the over use of these agents cause irritation to the new "fistula" the body is forming and thus the "reaction" occurs. A bump generally reddish in color will form near or at the entry or exit point of the piercing.

The client will at discovery of this bump, unknowingly apply even more cleaner or aftercare solution or spray and thus annoy the tissue even more. Simply ceasing the application of products and irrigating the piercing daily under running water has been found effective is 99% of the clients who have formed "hypertrophic reactions". The time period to see a change in this reaction can be from a few days to a couple of weeks. I hope you have found the above enlightening and informative and is based on over 16 years of experience professionally providing several thousand piercings over that time period.

What should a guy do if he's unsure about pursuing a girl but still cares about her?

You need to question what makes you unsure. If you care about her and she cares about you, why not try getting together? You never know where the road leads you. Just because you have hang ups doesn't mean it won't work out. Relationships take time, patience, and hard work. If you aren't dedicated to that then don't waste your time, but in the mean time don't keep her on a string... she will resent you for that later if you do.

How do you get rid of spots?

In order to get rid of spots or prevent them in the future aim to:

Cleanse your face regularly (at least twice a day).

Drink plenty of water (at least 7 glasses per day).

Wear less makeup. Makeup such as foundation and blush blocks your skin pores therefore skin becomes dry and spots occur.

It is important to have a balanced diet meaning an ideal portion of e.g carbohydrates and vegetable in your diet.

Do not use moisturizer a lot due to the skin becoming greasy leading to spots.

Visit your local doctor or chemist, they will be able to prescribe you with a special spot cream ideal for acne and spots.

Do not squeeze your spots as this may leave scars and slow down the healing process.

Do not use old methods such as rubbing toothpaste on spots as this leads to skin becoming greasy.

When cleansing your face turn the water from warm to cold as this opens the skins pores.

When cleansing your face use facial washes or soap.

REMEMBER: During childhood and teenager years you are most likely to suffer from acne (spots). This is normal.

A lot of the products that are face washes work well, especially the ones that dry out your skin. As a lot of spots are caused by greasy skin. Be careful because if you dry out your skin too much this will lead to dry, rough skin. Your skin could even start to shed. Use a moisturizer before you put on makeup (foundation, blusher etc.) or use any skin-drying products. Also use the moisturizer before you go to bed.

More suggestions
  • Keep your hair out of your face when you go to bed (put your hair up and if you have a fringe then clip it up).
  • Remove all makeup.
  • Wash your face with warm water, then put some 'sudocream' on the spots (don't rub it in)
  • Get a piece of bread, pour boiling water on it, leave it to cool down for a few minutes, then put it over the spot or spot cluster.
  • Rub tea tree oil over the spots
  • If the spot is swollen then put an ice cube over it until the ice cube melts

Does a hot face cloth kill pimples?

A hot cloth doesn't technically "kill" a pimple. Steam and hot water open pores which preps the skin for deep cleaning. Cold water closes pores. That is why it is recommended to wet your face with hot water first, then apply your face soap (either with a washcloth or lathered in your hands) and then rinse it off with cooler water.

What home remedies can you suggest to cure my dandruff?

a) Apple cider vinegar. let it set for a few minutes and then wash really good so you won't stink.

b) One teaspoon of lime can do wonder in removing dandruff from hair. It regenerates the lost bounce in hair and prevents further stickiness to set in. You need to mix lime juice one tea spoon while washing your hair, and you need to select a mild herbal shampoo to wash your hair.

c) The most important point in the treatment of dandruff is to keep the hair and scalp clean so as to decrease the accumulation of dead cells. The hair should be brushed daily to improve the circulation and remove any flakiness. The most effective way to brush the hair is to bend forward from the waist with the head down towards the ground and brush from the nape of the neck towards the top of the head. Massage the scalp daily using one-finger tips and working systematically over the head. This should be done just before or after brushing the hair. Like brushing, this stimulates the circulation, dislodges dirt and dandruff and helps in the hair growth.
