There are many reasons - The main one is peer pressure. Many users start because their 'friends' do it (think how many kids start smoking just because their school-mates think it's 'cool') ! Experimentation - some people who are already hooked on 'legal' drugs such as alcohol and tobacco get used to their 'high' - and seek something a little stronger. Hi, Just wanted to comment. I have had a drug abuse problem. I am now 15 months clean. Drug abuse is taking your prescription more than you are supposed to. Also by taking it a different way or time than prescribed. Drug abuse is a painful and sad thing. Please be sure you use the correct dosage and follow the doctors presription.

if you want to get high then yes. if you crush or chew it somehow break the extended release coating on the pill then you will feel the full effect of the pill right away. but if you are not experienced with opiods then you will probably overdose

It depends on the patient. Some people are fine taking it for just a few weeks. Others need to stay on it for years, or even their whole lives. It depends on how big the risk of relapse is. Personally, I have been on it for four years, and I still feel like if I went off it, sooner or later I'd be out buying heroin again.
