Yes you can. Actually even if you had a really bad habit and you just took your 8Mg Suboxone, i would say 8 - 12 hours later you can safely take opiates again. This also depends on how your takin the opiate. If your snorting (or shooting, obviously) then i would suggest waiting a little longer, if your taking the pill orally then you can take it earlier, because it will still have a while before it breaks down and the drug gets through your system. I've never experienced real withdrawls or the withdrawals suboxone gives you, and I'm thankful for that. I love painkillers, but suboxone is definitely a great answer to opiate addiction. Hope this helped. l8r.

Who in the world are you? And who told you all of your information about suboxone? Because you are so bad wrong! Ultram is not an opiate - you can take it anytime. And as for as waiting 8 hours and taking an opiate, why even take suboxone? However I have been one suboxone for about 2 weeks, and I had to get a tooth pulled, and the doctor gave me lortabs, and i cant even tell you how crappy i felt afterwards. Try to get all medical problems taken care of before you start suboxone, because its not worth a crap for pain. Hope this will help, it's the real truth!

The real truth?
Who in the world told you suboxone was a pain killer? That doctor is a complete moron! Why in the heck would he give you lortabs? He obviously doesn't know what he is doing.

People, do your research!
My husband was addicted to pain pills and heroin, so I put him in rehab and they gave him this "wonder drug" to "help" him with getting sober and with the pain. Four years later, he finally wants to be free from this addiction, and now it is worse than getting off of the other crap! I'm talking 2 seizures in the past year! Wonder drug? Be very careful! This is just another addiction. Just get sober without it! You're better off and I know that my husband regrets his choice to stay on this drug. It's not a miracle, it's a nightmare!

Ultram, or Tramadol, while an opiate agonist, does not behave exactly like an opiate. I could find no information on whether or not tramadol and buprenorphine would have a higher affinity than the other for the same receptors. Nonetheless, one can follow buprenorphine with another opiate without precipitating withdrawals. But because buprenorphine has a higher binding affinity, the closer you take an opiate to your Bupe dose, the less effective it will be. You should wait at least twenty-four hours, or until the effects of the bupe wear off, to receive the maximum effect of another opiate.
On the other hand, you cannot follow other opiates with buprenorphine, because buprenorphine is an agonist/antagonist. And because of it's higher affinity, it will dislodge other opiates from your receptors, precipitating withdrawals. Therefore, you must wait for other opiates to clear your system - twenty-four to thirty-six hours - before taking bupe.
Buprenorphine is a pain reliever, and is considered to be about half as effective a morphine.
Buprenorphine is not a "wonder drug". It is merely, like methadone, a legal substitute for other opiates that the government has deemed illegal. Buprenorphine satisfies the moralistic impulses of the prohibitionists because it produces very little in the way of euphoria, and it effectively blocks the effects of other opiates which do produce euphoria. But, in terms of addiction, almost all opiates, (all opiate agonists), are interchangeable in that they will all prevent withdrawals.
If you need to take another opioid pain medication, you can simply stop taking buprenorphine, assuming that the dose of the pain medication is equivalent, or greater than, your buprenorphine dose. Google "opioid equivalency chart" to get an idea of this.
If you take another opiate for more than three or four days, you will have to transition back to buprenorphine by waiting until the other opiates clear your system. Again, at least twenty-four hours.
Suboxone will not but the methadone will show as an opiate. I would give the methadone a good four days to get out but keep taking your suboxone so you dont get sick. i have been on probation taking u.a.'s for about a year and have been on suboxone for the same amount of time. I take a sub the morning of my test and it shows clean everytime. just quit the methadone and you will be fine!
Can addiction treatment be confidential?
When seeking drug and alcohol rehab, laws are in place to keep your treatment confidential and your records private. Having the peace of mind that of treatment privacy of the patient is being protected can help ease the potential stress that can accompany getting the help you deserve.

How does getting drunk affect a job?
Getting drunk on a regular basis affects your job and career and puts you at more risk of unemployment. If you are an alcoholic you are often drunk and cannot function properly. You might be very tired and sleepy

Advice needed on a love with a recovering drug addict?
The best possible advice: go to some Nar-Anon meetings. You need to understand where he's coming from, and also what you can expect on your side of the deal. The folks at Nar-Anon can help tremendously. If there are no meetings near you, try Al-Anon instead.
We cannot overemphasize how important this is.

Why do drug addicts like the curtains shut?
There are many reasons this may be the case. It depends on what kind of drug the person is doing, though obviously a good reason for any drug would be so that people outside don't see you doing illegal drugs. People who smoke marijuana may do it because of the paranoia that sometimes results from getting high, or simply because they want a relaxing environment in which to enjoy the high. Those who use hallucinogens may want the curtains shut because a relaxed environment is often recommended to avoid the possibility of a "bad trip."
Anti-Drug Abuse Act 1986 What was the purpose of this act?
It was an attempt to reduce the problem of illegal drug use.
Yes, Suboxone (buprenorphine) has been successfully used as a detoxification protocol to wean patients from opiate usage while minimizing withdrawal symptoms. Its molecules have a similar affinity for the same receptors as opiates but cause a less strong addictive potential, thus blocking the opiates and down-regulating the receptors for withdrawal. It may be used alone, or in combination with benzodiazepines (as Ativan, Xanax) or clonidine.
Im 13 and im very scared that i wont grow any taller cause i do masterbution?
no sweetheart, it DOESN'T stunt your growth. whoever told you that, was either wrong, or a jerk. but it WILL make your palms hairy (no it won't, I'm teasing you) if you practice making it last longer before "finishing", it will make you "bigger" (just like any other muscle), and you'll feel more satisfied afterwards. almost all young men do it (even tho they won't admit it), and "feeling guilty" does FAR MORE damage than having a healthy sex drive EVER could. good luck dear :)
If you know of anyone who is abusing a child, YOU should be calling someone yourself. Doctors are, in most cases, obliged to report instances of child abuse. If the child has symptoms of illness caused by the mother, I have to question her ability to put her child's interests above her own. It is quite likely that, without any intervention, something may happen to this child. It is the moral responsibility of everyone who is aware of the situation to do their part to save that child from harm. At the very least, you should make an anonymous call to get help before something more serious happens. How will you feel if that child suffers some serious harm that you may have been able to prevent? Then it won't just be the mother who harmed the child, but those who allowed it to happen. Don't let it happen. Do something now before it's too late. Every state has laws that set guidelines for defining abuse and/or neglect of children. A case of an infant born with signs of fetal alchohol or chemical addiction syndrome is referred to the state agency that handles such issues. In small communities it might be the local police who will take the initial report and send it to the state agency. Other cases will be handled by DFS or similar departments of health and welfare. An investigation is done which will include evidence and testimony from the attending medical staff, perhaps relatives or aquaintances and of course the mother. The results of such an investigation obviously depend upon the evaluation of the agency of jurisdiction. Medical personnel are required by law, to report all suspected cases. Medical Professionals are required by law to report signs of abuse.
