What elements does tungsten react with?
Tungsten primarily reacts with halogens, such as fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine, forming various tungsten halides. It can also react with oxygen at high temperatures to form tungsten oxides. Additionally, tungsten may react with certain acids, such as hydrofluoric acid, and can form alloys with metals like nickel and iron under specific conditions. However, tungsten is generally considered to be a chemically resistant metal due to its high melting point and stability.
Difference between uhf and vhf?
The frequency. Oddly enough, uhf actually stands for Ultra High Frequency and vfh stands for Very High Frequency.
VHF for old TV covered the range 90Mhz to 150Mhz
UHF for modern TV covers the range 400Mhz to 800Mhz
Who developed a transmitter that made amateur broadcast?
Nobody as amateurs are not allowed to broadcast
Never
Name the scientist whose name begins with ham is ham radio?
There is no scientist named Ham in ham radio. The term was first an insult, like "ham-fisted" (clumsy) or "ham actor" (bad stage actor). Then the radio operators decided to take the name as a source of pride, and found three radio pioneers to say it was named for:
The H is for Heinrich Hertz, who did a lot of work with radio frequency energy and for whom the measurement of frequency is named.
The A is for Major Edwin Armstrong, who invented frequency modulation. Apparently no one else was available because FM wasn't a popular mode in the amateur service when they borrowed his name.
The M is for Guglielmo Marconi, who invented the radio.
Can you use a capacitor for a mobile CB linear?
No! CB power amps are very unlawful, and they can interfere with legal radio communications. (Like Amateur Radio)
Where can you find police scanner freq for gastonia nc on a uniden bc350a?
Since the Police Call publications are no longer published by Radio Shack, and access to the internet is increasingly available, the internet is going to be your best way to go. Check the related link for one such website.
What are three things radio waves can do?
Here are a few things that radio waves can do:
1. Communications (TV, Commercial radio, Ham radio etc.)
2. Heat things up, (Microwaves are just extremely short radio waves)
3. They can travel extremely fast (At the speed of light)
Can a person modify a ham radio amplifier into a guitar amplifier?
Absolutely not, no way, no how, don't even think about it. The closest you could
come to accomplishing that would be to chop out all the guts from the ham unit,
discard them, and either build a guitar amp into the same box, or else buy one that
fits in it.
Note: If you decide to do that, I would appreciate the opportunity to acquire the
discarded guts.

How can you listen and talk to police on your Ham radio in case of emergency?
With a standard Amateur license, you have no authorization to operate outside of
the amateur frequency bands, and if you're using commercial type-accepted ham
equipment, it won't operate outside of those bands anyway.
Public Safety radio services don't operate in the amateur frequency bands. You can
listen to them any time, with a 'scanner' that covers the police bands, but you can't
talk to them.
If you have a special license and different equipment, or if the local police want to
acquire ham equipment to use in emergencies, then that's a different story.
Is the FCC amateur radio exam graded as pass fail or do you receive a percentile score?
It is scored as pass/fail. If you ask, the Volunteer Examiners will tell you how many questions you answered incorrectly.
Why does the spektrum dx6i have an alarm and blink THOLD when you turn it on and what does it mean?
Thold stands for throttle hold. one of the switches on the top is labelled th hold as well. If you have the throttle hold setting on you will need to flip the switch before you can throttle up. Its like a safety feature so the main rotor or prop doesnt start spinning while you are handling it.
What is the scientific name for wheat straw?
The scientific name for wheat is Triticum aestivum. Wheat straw refers to the dried stalks of the wheat plant after the grain has been harvested. While there isn't a specific scientific name for the straw itself, it is commonly referred to in relation to the plant's scientific classification.
What is the difference between RG11 and RG213 cable?
RG-11/U is 75ohm and is usually triple/quad shielded and typically has a maximum attenuation of 3.65. RG-213/U is common form amateur radion and is 50 ohms and is single shielded with about a 5.95 attenuation.
What is the difference in the usefulness of upper-sideband and lower sideband transmission?
There's no difference in their usefulness, and no basis for any preference on
the part of the transmitting party. There's an advantage to the receiving party,
however, if he can coordinate with the transmitting party. The advantage of
having a choice is that you can choose whichever mode encounters less
interference, and you can switch 'on the fly' if the congestion/interference
environment changes.
Upper sideband may be somewhat more difficult to receive clearly. This isn't a
technical issue, though. It's just sometimes harder for the operator behind the
tuning knob to tune it clearly, and slightly-mistuned upper sideband is harder to
understand than slightly-mistuned lower sideband is, because the frequencies
in the voice are inverted relative to each other.
May a VE be accredited by a VEC if his her license was ever suspended or revoked?
No. That is part of the FCC rules with regards to the VEC and VE system.
What does PEP as acronym mean in reference to radio power output- so many watts PEP?
Here is the Some model of the Amateur radios which has different Watts PEP.
The SR-955HPC is uses four FQP13N10 mosfet transistors that produce 70+ watts PEP. If you want be heard, the SR-955HPC has the power required to do
some serious talkin.
High Power - The SR-497HPC uses six IRF-520 mosfet transistor that provides the user with 100+ watts PEP. If you want be heard, the SR-497HPC has the
power required to do some servious talking.
Can uhf and vhf be used together?
There is one way, but it is NEVER clear to hear, but yes, It is possible.
How do ham radios operate in storms?
They work the same in a storm or out of one. Perhaps you are thinking about storm trackers etc. Where individuals who are often ham radio operators track severe weather and pass the information to the national weather service for distribution to the public to provide weather safety guidance etc.
