The Bernese Mountain Dog is not a breed known for having double dew claws, and for showing all the dew claws are usually removed. Breeds that are desired to have double dew claws on their hind legs are Beauceron's, Briard's, Pyrenean Mountain Dog's/Great Pyrenees and Lundehund's. Although some Bernese Mountain Dog's may be born with extra dew claws, they should be removed if the Dog is to be shown as some judges may class this as a fault.
Both the Bernese Mountain dog and the Golden Retriever would make a great dog for a beginner. Bernese Mountain dogs tend to shed less but are slightly less social around strangers than the Golden. The Golden does require more trimming/clipping than the Bernese however they are easier to train and don't grow to be giant like the Bernese. Both of these dogs are just about equal so whichever one you choose is going to be determined by your own personal preference.
This is not a desirable trait for this breed to have (according to the Breed Standard) and the Bernese Mountain Dog should have feet that are ''short, round and compact''. Breeds such as the Labrador Retriever and the Newfoundland are bred to have webbed feet.
Neither, But a bernese mountain dog needs to be in a very large space, and need to be walked daily. it it harder to look after.
I know of a litter of 16 puppies (14 survived) born on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria Australia August last year.
Well if the dog is 0-1 years old then when you should feed it one cup of wet food. When it is 2-??? you should feed it two cups in the morning and two cups at night.Hope I helped!!!
In all technicalities, you can. Dogs can breed with any other dog, provided they are fertile, and even some other non-dog species like coyote.
However, that's not to say you shouldbreed your dog. There's a lot of risk, bothfinanciallyand in health wise when breeding dogs, especially when breeding mutts that you can not predict.
The Swiss Mountain Dog is very similar. The main difference: the Swiss's coat is short, not curly like a Burnese.
Sure we do...getting people to believe they must buy stuff they really don't need is inherently hilarious
No. it will probably wag its tail and smile and sniff the intruder. they are the sweetest dogs ever!
yes, they achieve full weight around 2 years
No, the only breed that starts with either is the Bernese Mountain Dog. Most of the confusion comes from people who think the dog originated in Burma, which is false.
Lot of people! I bet. except people who has allergies or some reason. i think like 1000.
As an example: around 250-300 grams of dog food for large dogs and 100 grams of minced meat along that twice a day. The example dog is a male and weights about 50-60 kg. You can modify the amounts depending on how big your dog is.
No the rottweiler is a peddigree dog, its an ancient dog crossed with a mastiff and a Swiss mountain dog possibly 1000 years ago, dobermans are also pedigree and not mixed and have no bloodline with a rottweiler
About once a week (minmum) or once in two months (avarage)
The breed, Bernese Mountain Dog, was not bred to be small. Why do you want a small one? Obviously you don't want this particular breed then. Find yourself a small dog that you do like. If you want this breed then you have to like the entire breed as it was meant & bred to be. This is a working breed & not bred to be small or it could not function.
A bernese Mountain dog is a pure bread dog. It's not "made up" of other kinds of dogs...
They were originaly from Ireland and they have three colors in their coat.Black, white, and light brown.
Some people do not prefer noise piercings because they think it looks tacky and gives the appearnace that you have a zit or something strange on ur noise. Plus sometimes scabbing may occur around the area making it look gross and unappealing to some. I, however, think it can look cute and sexy. And theres nothing wrong with that.
in the placenta they are curled up in a ball, they are about the size of an apple
