What causes the abs to kick on when rolling to a stop in a 99 silverado?
Hi, The most common cause of this is one or both of the front wheel bearings are starting to fail. They are one piece parts and must be replaced as a unit. The abs sensor is part of the bearing assembly and can be removed. Sometimes removing it and cleaning it will solve the problem. This is what I would try first. In the meantime you can remove the 60 amp abs fuse in the box under the hood. This will disable the abs system and the brakes will work fine with no adverse effects. The only down side to doing this is the abs light and the brake light will be on on dashboard. good luck
How do you know if the abs module is not working what do you look out for?
When the ABS module fails the computer will typically show either a "brake" light or a "service" light on the dashboard. Note that most code scanners available to consumers do not read ABS fault codes.

What is reason of different types of tire treads?
To handle different road conditions. I have all season radials on my van right now. This week I am changing the 2 front wheels to 2 I have with rain tires on, as we are facing about two months with almost constant rainfall. I also have 4 other wheels with snow tires, they will go on in February and after that my All Seasons go back on in April. It all helps to handle all weathers and still 'keep on truckin' .
Does the air inside a tire rotate with the tire?
In short, yes the air does rotate. You're wondering if one molecule of air at the top of the inside of the tire will stay stationary when the tire is moving, basically. Because of the high PSI in a tire, the air molecules are packed together and do not have anywhere to go. When the tire spins, the air doesn't have anywhere else to go, so it starts spinning with the tire.
Antilock brakes do not increase the braking force.

A bad retread is one that has not been processed properly in the retread factory. However, it is important to know that retreads are NOT the main cause of tire debris on our highways, even though many people believe they are. Tire debris (also known as rubber on the road & road alligators) is caused by improper tire maintenance, with the main culprit being under-inflation, closely followed by overloading, improper tire repairs, tires that are being driven with less than the legal amount of tread remaining, etc.
Retreads are a very important of our nation's effort to save oil and are extremely environmentally friendly, as well as being very economical. They are safely used on school buses and city buses, fire engines and other emergency vehicles, commercial and military airlines, small package delivery services such as FED EX, UPS & DHL, as well as by the U.S. Postal Service, and by taxis and trucking fleets in both the private and public sectors.
To blame retreads for tire debris on our highways is the same as blaming a vehicle for an accident caused by a drunk driver. The blame is simply misplaced.
