Quite frankly I would suggest not concerning yourself with him if you've split up, I mean both of you should beconcentratingon moving on from each other right now, regardless of how you think he feels.
To show he's not interested in you, he'd basically not show he's interested in you:
-He could talk to you less, or in a more "friendly" way.
-He could be spending a lot of time in the company other people he sees as potential future partners.
-He could have visibly moved on with his life.

YES!!! It is all about forgiving and forgetting. There are THREE very important things to never do in a relationship. Especially if trust is broken... One- Your past relationships should never be talked about or even brought up. It only hurts the other person and causes insecurities. Two- Never say the "D or B" word. Divorse or Break up. It only hurts the other one, and is usually said, just for the effect. NEVER NEVER NEVER!!! Three- You NEVER bring up past fights, hurtful words, or shortcomings of your partner. That is looking back instead of ahead!!! Those are my three rules in Relationships. It is also important to work on your communication skills. People have been brought up, shown love, and communicated too, in all different ways. It is very benificial to find out how your partner would like to be communicated to, and you as well!!! It depends on the individual who lied and what they were lying about. Once a trust is broken in a relationship it's hard for the person who lies to gain the respect and trust back from their partner. Some people (as the above poster said) can make it through but the stats say different. Usually when someone lies about an affair(s) or many affairs, lies about other important things in the couple's lives then it's best to move on. I do agree with communication, but it takes two and if one mate is lying you never really know if you are getting the truth. Who wants to live like that as life is too short!

What to say after someone says back off?
Just say "Oh wow, you're cool.(with sarcasm and laugh) and just back off". It makes the other person feel like... they're not in control.
It sounds like there are some issues that need to be resolved. Perhaps the two of you could go someplace to talk about what is wrong. It may not be possible to resolve your conflicts, but at least if you know what they are you could both accept that you won't be able to get back together. On the other hand there is always the possibility that once you identify the issues you might be able to fix them. That's what marriage counselors do. They can't always fix it, but they at least help you identify the issues.

You have to look at yourself and find out. Do you make the best attempt you can to look the best you can be? This doesn't mean you have to be a #10. Ask your girlfriends for advice on how to perk up your appearance. Perhaps you're clothing isn't up to date or you may have a nice figure and wear too many baggy clothes. Perhaps a little soft make-up to bring out your best features and a new hairstyle. If you don't feel this is the problem then you have to look deeper into yourself and be honest. Are you approachable or do you look away from people or look like you could sock them in the nose? Do you act like a tom boy? Are you too needy? Do you act desperate around males and females (hanging around and not being yourself until you may annoy them.) Do you talk about your woes too often with friends (it does get around to the guys.) Do you do too much for guys when you meet them and lack independence? Do you try to act cool when you aren't? Do you swear like a sailor on shore-leave (guys don't like to hear girls swear even if they may titter when you do ... it's what the guys say when you back is turned.) If you're over-weight do something about it. Go to Weight Watchers, exercise, start reading labels, stay away from junk food, sweets, too much caffeine and that means pop of any sort. If you can't afford to go to a gym and work-out then take up jogging, biking or go to the local pool and swim several laps. You need to do this 3 times a week.
Quit sitting around feeling lonely and depressed. You can volunteer at many places and that will give you a chance to meet new girlfriends and from there that can lead to meeting guys.
If you give off a persona (body language) sometimes young men think you aren't interested in them. If you like someone then try asking them out. In these modern times it's quite alright to ask a guy out. Some guys are really shy.

AnswerGet out there and make it happen for yourself. This is a new era. No longer do woman have to sit around and wait for a man. Just think there is a guy sitting out there saying the same thing. I don't know how old you are but age appropriate ways of meeting someone is what Im talking about.If your still in school(high school and under) focus on your studies, don't look for a committed relationship, too young and too much of a rollercoaster ride for now) If your in college, go out with some of your friends to college campus parties, or go to places you have interests in. Like a museum or art festival, sports games, join a club that caters to your hobbies, if there are any type of community meeting get involved in that and meet people. If your out of college then reinvent yourself. Try all of those things above and reinvent yourself. Try a new hair do, change the style of dress you wear, get out there and live. I have so many friends that have wonderful relationships where they met there partners at the most unexpected place. Even for myself, I have been married for 20 years to my husband. I was going to this repair shop for atleast 3 years, of which he worked there at that time and one day I noticed him, of course he was in a mechanics suit, all greasy and such, but I said to the owner, Hey who is that, clean him up and he'd be hot, no kidding. I was in there to get a new battery and he did the change so when he was done, I walked up to him and gave him 5 one dollar bills with my phone number on it and said, look on the bills there are more than just treasury numbers on it. I said to myself, if he doesnt call so be it, I had two other guys I was seeing, variety is the spice of life. Well, after a few weeks he didnt call, and I wasnt sitting by the phone. I went back to shop for tires and it happened to be Valentines Day. So when the lunch truck pulled up, he bought me a rose and waited for me to go and get in my car and came over and apoligized for not calling, telling me his brother took the money by accident out of a tip jar they shared in their room and he didnt have the number, not wanting to ask the owner for it because your not supposed to "hawk" on the customers, he didnt know I already made the comment to the boss. Needless to say we went out on our first dayte February 27, 1987 and are still together... So you can meet the love of your life in the oddest place and Im living proof. By the way, marriage isn't all peaches and cream you have to work on it like your favorite old wheelbarrel....so to speak..
