The Coolant Temp Sensor is located on the intake above # 5 spark plug. #1, #3 & #5 spark plugs are toward the front of the car. The exhaust pipe semi hides the CTS, but you can remove it with a deep-well socket and 3/8" drive ratchet. Good Luck!

Assuming you are re-installing the same distribuutor or a new one of the same part number: The distributor is not a direct stab installation. You will have to rotate it a little one way or another to get the splines to mesh. It might take a couple of stabs to get it to line up the way it was when it was removed.

First take the cables off then the hold down then lift the battery out. Clean the battery box with a mixture of soda and water then spray it with WD40 then install the new battery and clean the cables before you reinstall them.

Depending upon the year, it could say Regal, or Grand National. Most 1986s will say Grand National on the title. 1987 is particularly confusing, some have it, some do not. The best way to confirm that you have a grand national and not a Buick regal Turbo is to check the build sticker on the driver door or the trunk lid. if you see a code "WE2" in all the option codes you have a real Grand National.

I was just under the hood of an 87 regal. The fuel filter was on the right side of the engine (passenger side of the car), next to the carbuerator. If you take the air cleaner off you should be able to see it...it say "fuel filter" right on it.

If "No" then I'm at a lose to explain this one.

If "Yes" then it may be that the controls are malfunctioning. It may be that the control switch/rheostat may be malfunctioning and need to be replaced or that the thermistor (the electronic device used to detect the temperature) on one side or the other is malfunctioning. etc. etc...........

I have a 1995 Buick Regal Custom Sedan, and just today I fixed a similar problem with my heater. Hot air would come out the passenger side vents, and cold air would come out the driver side vents and the rear seat vents under the seats. I found the problem was a connection to the electronically controlled ventilation door was not connected. If this is the case, you may want to check those. The heater core will not heat cold air that is moving at 60 miles per hour, which can cause the cabin to become quite cold. !
