What is the location of the ambient temp and in car temp sensors for heater control in a 1994 Buick Roadmaster?

These are usually mounted in between the outlets for the vents on the edge of the dashboard. You will have look closely to see it/them, because they are no larger than about a 1/4" square. It/they will have a tiny grill covering them.

How do you set timing on a 1992 Buick Roadmaster 5.7l?

The timimg is most definetley effected by the position of the distributor. to do it easily buy a distributor style wrench. it has a big elbow in it to reach under the cap and what not. i can not tell you for certain but i believe that counter- clockwise will advance your timing and improve take off problems which i had. i just did it to my roadmaster 5.7 liter non lt1 and what a difference. loosen the bolt just engough to rotate the dist. with the car running rotate counter clockwise until you hear the engine struggle then move back about 5 degrees and this should be it. hope this helps.

Heat why does your heat get warm but not hot in a 1995 Buick Roadmaster?

Chances are it needs a new thermostat. It probably has a failsafe one in it which is a good thing. What it does is allow coolant to flow from the engine block to the radiator but because the thermostat is not working there is no pressure built up which gives heat through the heater core. Make sure you get the correct one and get a failsafe one. These ones make sure that the block doesn't crack when it is extremely cold and also overheat and crack because of extreme heat.

Where is the oil pressure sensor located on a 1992 Buick Roadmaster 5.7?

The oil sending unit is located at the back of the engine- behind the intake manifold and just right of the distributor if you are standing in front of the car. There should be a blue wire connected to it.

How do you adjust 1993 Buick road master steering box?

Adjustment of steering gear in the vehicle is not recommended because of the difficulty encountered in adjusting the worm thrust bearing preload and confirming the effects of the hydraulic fluid in the gear. Since a gear adjustment is made only as a correction and not a periodic adjustment, it is better to take the extra time and make the adjustment correctly the first time.

Since a handling stability complaint can be caused by improperly adjusted worm thrust bearings as well as an improper gear over-center adjustment, it is necessary that the steering gear assembly be removed from vehicle and both thrust bearing and over-center preload be checked and corrected as necessary. An in-vehicle check of steering gear will not show a thrust bearing adjustment error.

Valve assembly and seal drag should be 1-4 inch lbs. Thrust bearing preload should be 3-4 inch lbs. in excess of valve assembly and seal drag.

Fig. 4 Aligning Stub Shaft

Fig. 5 Aligning Pitman Shaft Master Spline

Fig. 6 Checking Over Center Rotational Torque

  1. Rotate stub shaft back and forth to drain fluid.
  2. Turn pitman shaft adjuster screw counterclockwise until fully extended, then turn back one full turn, Fig. 4.
  3. Rotate stub shaft from stop to stop and count the turns.
  4. Starting at either stop, turn the stub shaft back one-half the total number of turns.
  5. When the gear is centered, the flat on stub shaft should face upward and be parallel with side cover and master spline on pitman shaft should be in-line with adjuster screw, Fig. 5.
  6. Rotate stub shaft 45°each side of center using a torque wrench with handle in vertical position, Fig. 6, record the highest drag torque measured on or near center.
  7. Adjust over-center drag torque by loosening adjuster locknut and turning the pitman shaft adjuster screw clockwise until correct drag torque is obtained. On new steering gears (under 400 miles) add 5-11 inch lbs. to previously measured worm bearing preload. Do not exceed total preload of 18 inch lbs. On used steering gears (400 miles or more) add 4-5 inch lbs. to previously measured worm bearing preload. Do not exceed total gear preload of 13 inch lbs.
  8. Hold adjuster screw and torque adjuster locknut to 20 ft. lbs.

Did a 1993 5.7 liter engine out of a buick roadmaster wagon have a factory hydraulic roller camshaft?

Yes. The L05 (350) engine in the B-body used a hyd. roller cam, as did the L03 (305).

The same code engines used in GM trucks did not come from the factory with the roller cam. Although the block has the provisions to upgrade to the roller assembly, it only came with a hyd. flat tappet cam. If you were to change one over, don't forget the pushrods (they are shorter with the roller setup).
