Ripping a Blu-Ray video is just a step up from ripping a DVD. Except the sheer amount of data to be processed, the principles of burning a Blu-Ray movie remains the same with burning a DVD movie.
Take note though, that a Blu-Ray can contain 25 to 50 GB of data, or 50 to 100 GB for dual-layer discs. Compare that to the 4.7 GB for DVD, 8.5 GB for double-layer discs -- this will often translate to a longer time needed to copy Blu-Ray or complete one burning process.
There are differences, of course, but those that generally doesn't affect the burning process directly. Blu-Ray employs the Advanced Access Content System (AACS), BD+, and BD-ROM Mark. However, capable Blu-Ray burning software has the necessary algorithms to bypass these schemes.
