First remove the battery then you should be able to spot the belt tensioner. It will be the smaller pulley that is attached to the engine by an aluminum arm. There is a square hole cut in the aluminum arm that you can simply stick a 1/2 ratchet in. Then push the ratchet towards the car and this will release the pressure on the belt. Be careful not to let the tensioner snap back it could damage it or bust your knuckles. Proceed remove the old belt and follow the belt routing diagram that should be located on a panel under the hood somewhere. Route the belt around everything except for the power steering pump. Now push the tensioner again and pull the belt over the power steering pump and slowly let the tensioner back and your done.

Added note - When you replace a belt always check the belt tensioner for proper pressure. This can be done using a torqure wrench set it to 110 ft/lbs for this vehicle. Failure to check the belt tensioner can result in excessive wear on the belt and premature breaking. A good rule of thumb is to replace the belt tensioner the same time you replace the belt.

This might help. Unlock the door with your key, open it,shut it and lock with your key. Wait 20 seconds and unlock the door with your key. My alarm system shut down my ignition one day making it so that I couldn't start the car. My friend a radio tech told me this and it worked.

I suspect the control module is going out. These are microprocessors and are touchy when the get warm and are older. After they cool down, they will start like nothing has happened.

you may want to have the heating core checked!!it might be clogged up and not letting any hot water passing thru.

Most usually at the front of the engine, on top and can recognize it by the connecting water hose, usually larger.

87 octane unless it's a later-model ETC, then 91-93 should be used

you get a pin and push the little hole near the bottom of the right hand side proceed with change the time, date, etc...

You may replace the bushings by pressing them out or replace the knuckle assembly.

Pressing out the old bushings and replacing them is the least expensive option.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS connect the (+) cable FIRST. The reason it sparked was the ( - ) negative cable was already connected.

I am in the process of changing my speakers and the rear are 6x9 inches and the front are 6.5 I dont think it has more speakers EDIT: Also i forgot to mention that u can install 5.25 inches speakers at the back as well. So you can install either 6x9's or 5.25's whichever u like.

is it low on freon?

I have a 96, but all you need to do is trick the computer. To do that you need to disconnect (+) and (-) cables to battery. This will trick the computer to start the compressor. If you are low, it is possible that you will need to add about 3lbs of coolant into your car.

Hope this will help, I replaced mine,88 eldorado, and found it at left end of the top hose, attached by (2)Two bolts. Facing engine,top radiator-hose,follow to the left with point of contact on engine top,secured by with two bolts. Good Luck

The 89 and 93 Eldorados have a U-shaped pin that goes into the leather from the front of the car. It is very hard to see, and even harder to get to come out. It works like a Key Pin and once removed, alows the whole top of the shifter to come off. It is pretty small and flat, just like a spring. I took mine off to get access to removal of the center console.

power steering fluid

Most do - it's not visible from the driver's seat, but between the rear view mirror and windshield, glued to windshield would be this plastic (about 3x3 and a half inch thick) module, visible from the passenger side and aslo visible from outside - look closely.

And if you ever change windshields, MAKE SURE to retain that sensor module, or you may disable your windshield washer!

The PCV valve is the plastic plug on your engine block on the same side as your oil intake on top of the engine block. Easily accessable. Simply pull it out. Most oil change locations will replace it for you for $53 but much cheaper to do it yourself and only take 2 minutes.

Located on left side of steering column. Take off both covers and you will find the turn signal relay.

a high flow air filter would be a start, next find a super programer to fit that model, also exhaust cat back system would help. be careful, too much power will damage some thing when it goes beyond what the car was desighned for.

You might have 2 problems.

1) The radios are VIN specific and so to get it unlocked you have to go to the dealer and have them program your VIN in the replacement radio, could be $10 to $75 depending on your dealer.

2) If you are trying to put a CD/Cass. in where there was just a plain cassette, it won't work anyway, the cassette player is internally amped, the CD/Cass. has an external amp, so if that is your situation, don't waste your money getting it unlocked.
