How to change 1994 Cadillac eldorado spark plugs?
Under the hood you will see a metal bar running across back of the engine it is attached above either strut cover with 2 bolts, remove this bar. Now pick a cylinder and remove the spark plug wire boot by giving it a quarter twist to the left and pull it out. Next use a spark plug wrench with a 8 inch extension to remove to old plugs. They may be in there pretty tight because they do not require change until 100,000 miles so they have a long time to cook in there. Apply spark plug grease to threads and screw the new one in use the spark plug boot to start the plug in because this is an aluminum block and you can accidentally cross thread the plug. With the plug started use the plug wrench on a torque wrench and tighten the plug to 21 ft/lbs. Now reconnect the boot and move to the next plug until you finish the front four plugs. Now the back four are little more difficult remember the bar you removed look behind it. There should be four black boxes sitting side by side on a aluminum rail these are your coil packs you can see this is where all the wires from your plugs end up. Behind the coil packs are the other four plug boots lined up just like in the front. Do these just like the front you can use a longer extension on your wrench or remove the coil packs to access them easier. Reinstall the metal bar then your done!
A few extra pointers your should change the wires at the same time you change the plugs. Also check your coil packs and remember to always keep track of what wires are going where this is why you do it one by one to avoid confusion.

Why don't washers work after replacing windshield?
It's the rain sensor! Unless you replaced your windshield with another rainsensing windshield, you'll need the old rain sensor pried off the discarded windshield!
It's because the washer circuit (and delayed wiper circuit) run through the rain sensing circuit! Re-connecting the rainsensor (even though it will not work for sensing rain) will complete the circuit and restore your windshield washers!
(I had this exact problem and solution on my 96 ETC.)

How do you adjust the parking brake on a 1991 eldorado's?
Underneath your vehicle, a steel threaded cable comes from the back of one hub and is joined by a short cable from the other hub--then the original cable runs to a threaded end with an adjuster nut in it--and one smaller nut on the end outside of that--(this is the equalizer bar)--you'll see it real close to your transmission. You might have to jack-up the back of the vehicle??? Pull the parking brake lever up sharply and then release it. Pull the parking brake lever to the second click and leave it there. You're looking for a slight drag of the brake shoes when you spin the wheels. To increase the drag, get under at the equalizer bar and turn the adjusting nut to take up the slack in the cables. Get out and spin the rear wheels if you think it's to tight. I will say don't be afraid to crank on it for a while as in this case, a little adjustment really does not go a long way. When you think you have the drag right, go back in the car and pull the brake up the the fourth click. At this point the wheels should be locked and you should not be able to turn them even when trying hard. If you can, tighten them up a little more. Once you've done this, release the brake and make sure the wheels spin freely. If they are still binding due to the parking brake, back off the adjustment a little. And that's basically the whole adjustment procedure.

What is the top speed on a 1988 Cadillac Eldorado?
95 mph, then the speed sensor shuts down the car. My 93 will do 138+ I know for fact! I question if there even is a speed sensor on a 88. I'm not quite sure. I would say the only way to find out, is to try it and see, But be careful. My 93 advanced in to overdrive at about 130, it was still pulling at 138, the car at this point doesn't handle real well, so I backed off.
Why is the coolant leaking on a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado?
depends where it's leaking from...I just changed my radiator and no longer have a coolant leak...had to replace the actual reservoir tank last year...somethings up with Cadillac cooling systems, they need to be upkept like crazy!
once you`ve evacuated the 22a freon, add the 134a using the adaptor provided with the kit.the compressor won`t activate when the system is low on freon.turn your ac on max with engine running add 134a,when freon pressure gets high enough the compressor will kick on.the fact that it`s not engaging would indicate a leak in the system.you can buy freon with dye in it to find the leak.once you`ve found that it`s just a matter of a new o ring usually.

How can you tell if the head gaskets are blown on a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado?
There are a few symptoms of a blown head gasket. The first one is loss of coolant. Coolant can be lost from the leak in the gasket into the cylinder. From there it can go past the piston rings and into the crankcase or it can be forced out of the exhaust system by the action of the piston coming up on the exhaust stroke. If the coolant enters the crankcase it mixes with engine oil. Of course oil and water don't mix very well but the presence of ethylene glycol (anti freeze) and the agitation caused by the crankshaft and other moving parts can whip the mixture of coolant and oil into a milkshake. If the coolant is forced out of the exhaust system it is usually heated by the hot exhaust manifold and the rest of the exhaust system. This results in a sweet smelling steam emanating from the tailpipe. The steam is rather persistent, that is it will hover in the air and not dissipate like the normal steam that comes from the combustion process. Testing an automobile engine for a blown head gasket is pretty straightforward. The first check is to see if there are combustion gasses getting into the cooling system. Take a sample of the coolant and go to the local radiator shop and request that they analyze the coolant for the presence of hydrocarbons. If they are present then it is most likely that you have a blown head gasket. Another check is to look at the oil of a warmed up engine. The antifreeze in the oil will whip it up into a frothy brown mixture that looks like a milk shake. If it looks like chocolate mousse then you probably have a blown head gasket. Another check is to fill the cooling system to the brim and remove the radiator cap. Do this when the engine is cool. Start the engine and race it. If there is a compression leak and the gasses are going into the cooling jacket then the gasses will displace the coolant. Since the cap is off the coolant will be pushed out of the radiator. You probably have a blown head gasket.
likely thermostat is stuck.
The temp blend door actuator has failed.
