likely thermostat is stuck.

The temp blend door actuator has failed.

i brought a 2000 Cadillac Seville sls...it had 85000 miles when i brought it ,now it has 105000..n now i need to replace the head gasket..job will cost 2500 n car cost me 5500..mechanic told me these things r common with Cadillac cars..way before this problem happened i seen a Seville sitting at a shop with the same problem..can't make your Cadillac cars an everyday vehicle

if im not mistaken those vehicles came with sealed unit and the only serviceable ones are aftermarket.

The Eldorado of 1995 contains a Northstar transverse (sideways) mounted V-8 engine. The spark plugs on the forward bank of cylinders are right in front of you when you lift the hood. Look for four black wires coming out from under the engine shield and going down in to four litte holes on the camshaft covers. The rear bank are a little harder to get to, but they're back there, on the opposite side of the engine.

one is in the glove box and one is under the hood near the front on the drivers side.

I had the same trouble. Found it to be a short in the front parking light bulbs. I had to take it to a GM dealer and pay over $100 just to find out it was as simple as that. It worked for me.

SHould be under the passenger side front seat

1. If working on the left side , remove the air cleaner , heat duct and crankcase ventilating breather.

2. If working on the right side remove pcv valve and elbow from cover. Remove Alternator wiring harness from clips.

3. Remove spark plug cables clips from studs and move them out of the way.

4. Remove seven bolts and two screw studs holding cover to head and remove cover.

If removal is difficult , use a hammer and a block of wood to loosen. Do not pry on valve cover!!!

Use Rtv when installing the new gasket. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten all bolts to 30 inch pounds. Reattach all spark plug wires and everything else that was disconnected. check for leaks.

underneath the dash on the passenger side behind the glove box, sometimes the glove box pulls down to get to it.

There is a separate belt on the opposite side of the motor from the serpentine belt. that belt runs off the camshaft and drives the water pump

One Sensor.... Removal Procedure 1. Remove the intake manifold. 2. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector. 3. Remove the knock sensor. Installation Procedure 1. Install the knock sensor. Tighten the knock sensor to 19 Nm (14 lb ft). 2. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector. 3. Reinstall the intake manifold.

The original refrigerant installed at the factory in 1973 was R12 (Freon). If it has not been converted to R134a, I suggest you convert it now, if it is leaking and needs repair. R12 is no longer in production and the dwindling supply is very expensive. Much cheaper to convert it to R134a.

Internal combustion engines produce a lot of heat, and need to be cooled. There are three things that carry excess heat away from the engine; air, oil, or radiator fluid.

Whenever an engine is overheating, one of these three things is not circulating properly through or around the engine. Check the radiator and make sure that air can get through. Drain and flush the radiator and coolant, and make sure that there is sufficient coolant (water & anti-freeze) and that it is circulating properly. Change the engine oil.

Happened to my 97. The alternator went out. Had to replace it and get a new battery. No

problems since.

The headlight fuse for a 1984 Cadillac Eldorado is in the fuse box under the hood. It is in the number 17 slot.

There is a plate under the car on passenger side. Remove this plate and you will be able to see the alternator. I think it has three bolts.

Depends on overall condition, mileage, options, etc...
