If you're smart, you don't. HID headlamps originally, legitimately designed and built as HID headlamps are the only legal ones. So-called "HID kits" to convert halogen headlamps are widely available, but they are (all) illegal and dangerous; halogen headlamps must use halogen bulbs or they don't (can't) give effective, legal safety performance. One can find a 2006 Chevy Cobalt for parts either in person from a local junkyard, auto salvage yard, auto repo auction, or online using the eBay Motors services.

open glove box....remove the door by pressing in on both sides....you will see where the filter goes...there are 3 snaps on the black piece that open up to allow removal of old filter....new filter must be installed by tilting it.

Very simple to install if you are somewhat handy with splicing electrical wires. There is a Red wire that needs to be taped into the radio ACC power line and a black wire that needs to be grounded to the chassis. If you don't have a manual/wire diagram on hand... easy way to check which wire is the ACC is to (1) unplug the harnesses on the back of the factory radio, (2) ground the MOD02, (3) turn the vehicle key all the way to "off", (4) insert the MOD02 red wire into one wire of the harness at a time and turn the key to "on". Remember to turn the key to off again after you are done checking that specific wire to start over. The wire that makes the power switch on the MOD02 glow only when the key is turned is your ACC wire. You will need to splice into this. After this it's pretty much plug and play. Some vehicles (my Infiniti for example) require an antenna adaptor because they don't utilize the standard Motorola connection that the MOD02 needs as your radio antenna wire now plugs into the MOD02 and the MOD02 plugs into your radio. These are relatively inexpensive.

I have a 2007 Cobalt Lt, which I bought instead of a z28 Camaro. It isn't the fastest car ever and you can't really add a chip or anything, but if that doesn't bother you it is an excellant car. Great gas mileage, easy to drive, and very cute. I got my power steering replaced yesterday due to a recall on 2005-2010 cobalts, and the dealer did it quick and easy with no fuss. All in all, I love my car, first new(er) car I bought on my own and very happy with it. Hope this helps!

A "chevy colbalt" is a Chevrolet, but they are based on the same GM "global platform". The 2010's will definitely eerily rebadged. The Aveo is in the same boat along with various other GM products (sky, astra, etc).

It means Evaporative Emission System Leak. Start with the gas cap. A loose gas cap can cause this.

Filter: Cartridge, typically a 9018 type if you get FRAM or most other brands.

Oil: Depends....Synthetic or Natural or Blend. Change the natural every 3000, Synthetic every 5000, most people say longer, but I've noticed a huge difference in idleing in hot weather when the oil is getting close to its 5000 mile mark, my coolant gets much hotter much quicker.

Hot weather, go with a thicker weight, like a 10w-50 or 15w-50.

Cold weather, go with a lighter weight, like 5w-40 or 0w-40.

First, remove the two bolts at the top of the light cover and the tab that holds the bumper closest to the headlight. Then, remove the headlight. The bulb will be held by a twist lock. Finally, place the new bulb into the lock, replace the headlight, put the bumper tab back in place, and screw the two bolts back into place.
