Chevy Corvette

The fuse panel on a 1980 Chevy Corvette is located under the dash, near the hood release. It houses most of the fuses which control the electrical systems throughout the vehicle.

Unless it is the anniversary edition it does not open.

It is quite easy actually. Take off your wheels, take off your calipers, there are two big bolts on the inner side of the caliper. Once they are off you can pull the rotor right off. If you want a diagram go over to smokinvette.com and type this in the search engine. Good luck!

I will answer my own question, the a/c coming thru the defrost was due to the battery leaking onto a hose junction under the battery for the heater and eating it away and caused a vacuum leak. The dim readout was due to a bad head on the climate control, total cost at the Chevy dealer $680.00

There isn't one. GM uses a different function for cutting off the fuel pump. No oil pressure, no fuel pressure..

It is most likely a poor contact on a printed circuit board in the cluster. You would have to disassemble the cluster and clean the boards with alcohol. Mine turned out to be a contact on one of the boards that had never been soldered.

Driver side front of the engine. Just follow the fuel line from the carb down to it.

If a 1987 Corvette headlight cover will not go back down, it could be a vacuum problem. The mechanism could also be corroded by rust if it has been up for some time.

First remove the defroster vent on the top of the door, the door handle bezel, then the armrest has a plastic plate that needs removed, all of this is held by screws, there are screws hidden in the carpeted portion along the edges, also a screw on the door latch side. Be very careful when removing the panel, the power mirror and door lock and hatch release wire harnesses are attached

All V8 Chevrolet's are 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 with 1,3,5,7 on the left bank and 2,4,6,8 on the right with the distributor rotating clockwise.

I bought a '77 Vette, 350, automatic, 3:36 rear gear, with 69,600 original miles, in Des Moines, IA in late May of 2008. I drove solo at 60-70 MPH average from Des Moines to Denton, TX and averaged 16-17 MPG with the air on. Virtually no wind, head, tail or side so that's not a consideration. I left at about noon and drove through straight through except three naps in: Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. It might have been shorter to drive through Missouri but thunderstorms were along that route. I don't recommend driving at night with a black Corvette now especially at a slow speed of 60. Also one headlight on low beam went out in Kansas. I should have stopped and waited until the next day to drive on. Hope that answered your question. If I keep this Vette, I will change to a 2004R overdrive. That should bump mileage into the 22-27 MPG.

One way to tell if it is a big-block car is if the car has a 'Power Blister' hood, which is a funnel shaped hood bulge on the hood .
