I have the same problem. Most likely it's the heater fan relay switch.... go back from the two wires plugged into your blower motor... u'll see a multi wire plug.. its under there. About $15 at the dealer. Get it diagnose 1st. U can see the fuse diagram under the fuse box lid.... Cal

Chevy cargo vans have been notorious for ground wire problems in the rear light assemblies. If unable to trace grounds, install new wire to frame and problem will likely be resolved. Chevy has not to date allowed a recall on this and more than 1/2 of the vans with light problems have had the same grounding issue.
In my case, I found that thin copper straps supplied the ground. They went up the side of soft, plastic bulb sockets & the heat melted the sockets just enolugh to prevent a ground. I added my own standard, braided wires with a soldering iron, to replace the factory copper strips. My new wires go up the outside of the socket. Problem solved & it's worked for several years now.

the 2004 1 ton Chevy express does not have a fuel filter, as well as many new trucks. stop looking. i spent the time looking until i asked the gm dealer. they informed me that there is no fuel filter on this van. they don't even list a part for it, even though the owner's manual does. the black box in front of the fuel tank is the evap cannister, not the filter. not having a filter is sure to lead to fuel problems such as plugged injectors, but...?

Remove two bolts in the arm rest, a panel near the door handle that will pop out and you will see obvious screws. The pain in the butt part is the clip on the window handle (if you have manual windows) I was able to push the panel in and remove the clip with a small screw driver. If you have a scribe or something that is angled, it may be easier. Once that clip is removed, the panel will lift up and off. You may have to remove a small piece of plastic panel near the upper front part of the door panel. Hope this helps, Kenny
