i have a 99 express van it did the same thing, i pulled my hair out over it couldn't figure out what it was, it ended up being the fuel pump wires/harness turns out when the fuel pump goes on it it fries the wires 90% of the time. either that or i;lve had a bad oxygen sensor but that was more like a loss of power while driveing

I have a 1999 Chevy Express 2500 and a 2000 Chevy Express 3500 with 5.7 V8 and they both have a 4L80-E transmission in them. they are NOT cheap to rebuild. Over $2100 to rebuild one.

It's possibly between the 1st set of plugs on the right side of the engine, on my 1500 with the 350 v-tech that's where its located, discovered that after I broke off the top trying to get a plug out.

NO You can not. The compurter and wreing harness in the 1990 will not hook up are even shift the 4L60E transmission. You MUST put the 700R4 back in it.

Open drivers door, on the side of the dash there should be a fuse panel cover, remove door, location of fuses should be located on the cover.

DEXRON-VI is also compatible with any former version of DEXRON for use in automatic tranmissions/transaxels.

make sure you prime the new pump with fuel so it is not dry, pour or squirt fuel into pump From original poster: We took the van to a mechanic. He tested both the old and the new fuel pump. They both worked. We checked all of the fuses and relays and they were all good. So he changed out the fuse/relay panel under the hood of the van and then it worked. The van has been running fine ever since.

well i just did a head gasket job on my 1992 g30 full size van & it costed me about $185 for all the gaskets , oil & antifreeze

by law you shouldn't be allowed to purchase an A/C compressor without having the proper ticket, and if you had the proper ticket you would not be asking this question, but in any case there is already a spot for the ac compressor on the block on the right front half of the engine. a four bolt mount is already installed ready to accept the compressor.

Should be located in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose Drain about 1 gallon of coolant from the radiator

Remove this housing

Make note how thermostat is installed

Clean both surfaces

Replace thermostat and gasket

Re-install housing

Re-fill coolant slowly to prevent an air lock

Start engine and look for leaks

Run engine to normal operating temperature with heater on

Re-check coolant level

It's internal. May be better to look for new trany 0785 is 2 codes in one. 1st is 2 - 3 solenoid and the 2nd is 3 - 2 solenoid. Either replace them both or spend $80.00 on a diagnostic scan. Each solenoid is $35.00. and easy to replace. Check with a good trany shop and they can tell you witch solenoid to replace.

I would first check the fuel filter, sounds like fuel filter stoped up. You did not say what year it was, But if its not newer then a 2005 the fuel filter will be in the drivers side frame rail close to were the transmission crossmember bolts to the frame. You will have to lay under the truck to see the fuel filter. You might want to check the air filter too. NEUTZ.
