the fix
This code indicated a mechanical issue, electrical troubleshooting wont help so replacement of the VCT or one of it's related components is necessary.

Pretty difficult unless you have small hands. Under glove box is very tight. Only a couple screws but hard to remove and bolt back in. Would be simple if you could get to screws. I am trying to get mine out now. Anyone have any tips?

check for rubber grommets in the firewall that already have something protruding through them if not then you'll have to drill a hole.do not run an electrical wire through bare metal hole because it can cause a short.get some grommets to put in the hole first then run your wire

Move the seat all the way forward, remove the 2 bolts on back of the rails, remove the side trim cover, remove the seat belt retaining bolt, tilt seat, disconnect wiring, remove seat. (See Haynes Repair Manual # 24047).....

The Cigarette Lighter fuse, identified as C/LTR, and the Accessory Power Outlet fuse, identified as AUX PWR, are in the Passenger's Side Instrument Panel Fuse Block. See page 5-99 of your "Owner's Manual" for details.....

Its a pain, there are two screws. One in the arm rest, and the other under a tab in the door handle. After that is the hard part, use two flat head screw drivers and pry the door handle trim off. Then the easy part, pop off the tweet housing and then pull the pannel off. Dont worry your not gonna break it its just clips. Then unplug the wires and your done.

I know someone from the Philippines (Angeles City, to be exact) who has been collecting Chevy Impalas for quite some time now. He is ERWIN S. DIZON, a filipino businessman. He's always been consistent in searching for these vintage cars. Most of the cars he bought are almost "junk" to be labeled but after the restoration you won't even believe how it looked before. He was featured on some local TV programs, magazines and also a patron of carshows.

ERWIN is about to complete the Chevy Impala series from 1959-1969. Currently, he has restored a total of 11 Impalas and another 4 under restoration.

The answer to this is not as easy as giving a price due to there being many models of 1966 Chevy Impala's. There are sedans, station wagons, and hardtop coupes. So in order to give a proper answer more details on the vehicle would be needed.

Slide the leather boot down from the collar (at the base of the shift knob). Look around to the front facing portion of the shifter near the collar just described. There will be about 1/2" of a metal horseshoe pin showing in a horizontal direction. Pry it out and pull up on the knob. I will be doing this tomorrow to replace mine with a leather wrapped unit from a Bonneville.
