The leader of the communist takeover of China was Chairman Mao. His full name was at one time generally spelled Mao Tse Tung, as an English transliteration of the original Chinese, but in recent years the alternative spelling Mao Tse Dong has been more favored. I personally just call him Chairman Mao to avoid the issue of how his last name is really spelled.

One legend related to the national flag is attributed to Buddhist priest Nichiren. One of Japan's oldest known flags is housed at the Unpo-ji temple in Yamanashi Prefecture. A legend states that the flag was given by Emperor Reizei to Minamoto no Yoshimitsu, and was treated as the family treasure by the Takeda clan. However, the historical accuracy of this account is questionable. The earliest recorded flags in Japan date from the unification period. The flags belonged to each Daimyo, and were used mostly in battle. Most of the flags were long banners, and were usually charged with the mon of the Daimyo. Members of the same family, such as a son, father and a brother, had different flags to carry to battle. The flags served for identification, and were displayed by soldiers on their backs and also on their horses. Generals also had their own flags, but most of these were square in shape. The Hinomaru was the legal national flag from 1870 until 1885. After the Meiji Restoration, the Hinomaru was the de facto national flag with no law in place.

The official economic model utilized in China is the "Socialist market economy" or "Socialism with Chinese characteristics", which is actually just a state capitalist economy based on state-owned enterprises and free-markets.

The government of China is run by the Communist Party, but that says nothing about the actual system over which the government presides over. Many high-ranking Communist party members are actually wealthy capitalists.

Why would you not like China? Every country has good and bad points. I love working in China, the people are nice and there is very little crime. What else do you need? You should visit and see for yourself.

The poor of the Victorian age, just as the modern poor do, wore what clothes they could get. Second-hand clothing shops (the ancestor to our thrift stores) were useful, of course, although the unpredictable nature of the sizes and types of clothing available meant the very poor were easy to pick out by their mismatched outfits.

The poor men of England, according to the Dictionary of Victorian London, generally wore their work clothes: Trousers of either moleskin or corduroy (both cotton fabrics), a clean shirt (checked or white), a black coat and waistcoat (black doesn't show stains as much; if you're American, a waistcoat is what we call a vest) and perhaps a bit of color in a scarf or muffler wound about the throat.

China didn't directly support anyone but themselves. They had their hands full from Japan invading them. But technically they would be considered an allied power based on the fact that they fought the axis.

Yes, China is a communist state. If you mean a country ruled by people calling themselves Communists (even if liberal economy has arrived after Mao Zedong died in September 1976). But many people say Communism is Karl Marx visions, who have never became true, and shall not be confused with dictatorships.
