I am not a mechanic, but own a 1999 Sebring. The "Check Engine" comes on for a myriad of reasons. The only way to find the fault is to read the code. This can be done using an engine code scanner, either do-it-yourself or taking the vehicle in to the shop. A third method involves turning the ignition key in a specific sequence which causes the light to flash the numeric code - kind of like a crude Morse code. For a 1999 Sebring, a common code is the "multiple cylinder misfire." This just says that one or more spark plug(s) failed to fire. If this occurs when changing speeds (entering or exiting a highway, for example) then the EGR valve may be the culprit. I've read that it goes bad on these vehicles. If the vehicle has more than 70k miles, then the fuel filter needs to be replaced, per the maintenance schedule. A clogged fuel filter may also cause piston misfires. Good luck.

ALSO YOU CAN TRY TURNING THE CAR TO THE ON AND THEN OFF AND THEN ON ( WITHOUT STARTING THE ENGINE) AND IT WILL FLASH CODES ( BY HOW MANY TIMES THE SERVICE LIGHT FLASHS), JUST JOT DOWN THE NUMBER. IT WILL FLASH ONE OR TWO TIMES AND THEN START FLASHING BETWEEN ONE TO SIX TIMES. COUNT THE FLASH'S IN A ROW AND WRITE IT DOWN AND THAN WAIT AND SEE IF IT FLASH'S AGAIN AND WRITE THAT NUMBER DOWN, IT COULD TAKE A WHILE TO GET THIS DONE. BUT WITH INFORMATION IN HAND YOU CAN EITHER GOOGLE AND FIND YOUR ANSWERS OR GO TO ADVANCED AUTO OR A CAR PARTS STORE AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL YOU WHAT IS GOING WRONG WITH YOUR CAR.

Your battery went dead sometime it messed up the computer. Disconnect the ground for 5 or more min. Reconnect and it should work Mine was stuck in defrost

The most common window problems in a 2007 Sebring are the fuse, the relay, the switch, and the motor. Check the fuse and the relay. If they are ok then the door will have to have the panel removed to reach the switch and motor.

The recommended oil is conventional 5W30 oil for this vehicle. You can use 10W30, but 5W30 is recommended and is considered an "energy conserving oil" which may give you slightly better fuel economy (1% to 2%).

You can also use full synthetic 5W30, but it is not necessary and is more expensive, but can go longer between changes, so it's a trade-off. Synthetic does reduce friction slightly, so may increase fuel economy over using conventional oil. Usually that is a 5% to 10% improvement.

However, if the car has any oil leaks, switching to synthetic will tend to make them worse. This is due to the difference in molecular structure between petroleum based oil and synthetic oil.

So you have a choice, but if you use 5W30 conventional oil and change it every 5000 miles, you will be following the manufacturer's recommendations and should have no problems.

The battery is in the left front fender. Jack up the car....... remove left front tire..... unscrew the plastic whell well in front of the tire.... there is the battery, GM series 75 SIDE POST battery

Remove the 1 screw behing door handle and the 2 on the armrest. Then pull outward on the bottom of the door panel. There are 8 to 10 plastic retainers holding the plastic to the metal.

For the 2.7l engine, it is located behind a silver heat shield held on with three bolts behind the right(rear)exhaust manifold. It can only be viewed and removed from the bottom side of the vehicle.

You must remove the headlight assembly to get working access to the bulb.

Remove the long top outside Torx screw (T30), and the short one.

Slide assembly forward. Use a very small screwdriver to bend back the 2 locking tabs to release the plug. Slide plug straight out.

Then rotate black plastic collar ccw to release the bulb. Bulb pulls straight out.

When installing the new bulb (9007 series), align bulb notches with housing, push it in, then lock in the collar clockwise. Replace that plug, and turn signal plug.

Avoid touching the new bulb with your bare hands. Also wise to replace the amber turn signal bulb at the same time, while you have access to it.
