I use to make this years ago and was taught by my grandmother. She would sliced thin orange peels and then boil them in water for several minutes. Drain them and while still hot shake granduated white sugar over them and roll them in it. Let cool and then you had the orange peel candy.

They were planted in southern Arizona. They were introduced in California around 1769.
