Why can not we use second angle projection method in Engineering drawing?
In 1st angle projection the front view will be in the top of the xy plane and the top view will be in the bottom of the xy plane
.In 3rd angle projection the top view will be in the top of the xy plane and front view will be in bottom of the xy plane. dis will give a clear view.i hope u know dis... but in 2 angle projection both the views(front and top) will be in the top of the xy plane and in 4th angle projection both the views (front and top) will be in the bottom of the xy plane... since both the views will be in one side of the xy plane, its not possible to draw... both views will merge... to get more clear view, refer any basic engineering drawing book.......
What is use of stirrups in columns?
steel n concerte r useless without a bond in beam stirrups resist shear foce in coloumns we mostly neglect shear effect .steel n concerete r useless without a pwerful bond this bond provides stiffness n tomake n to hold reinforcement in one place stirups r provided then concerete is filled to make a strong bond thankz 4rm talha butt..........
Is there a need for Civil Engineers in the future?
Yes, absolutely. They innovate and will often be needed. As an example, oil, coal and gas extraction (hydrocarbons) are going to be with us for the next 50 years at least. This industry requires chemical engineering expertise. Detergents and environmentally friendly versions for clothes washing, dish washing etc require chemical plants to produce. These require chemical engineers to design, build, operate and improve upon. There are many other examples too.
Why use kerosene in the test specific gravity of cement?
Kerosene, a petroleum product will not interact chemically with Portland cement - water will.
there is no m367 just 357 and they are 5\325. 362 is 10\600.
Can you reuse the cement after it has crossed its setting time?
yes, if it is before the initial setting time...
What is formula for maximum load due to bending of a simply supported beam?
The strength, S, of the beam is Mc/I where M = max moment to fail = PL/4 for load concentrated in the middle of the beam or WL/8 for uniformly distributed load.
Here P is the concentrated load, W = distributed load, c = distance to outer fiber from neutral axis and I the area moment of inertia of the beam. L = length
Solving for load maximum,
P = 4IS/Lc for concentrated center load
W = 8IS/Lc for distributed load
Can you give you some different names for college symposium for civil department?
istanbul efendisi - civil magistrate
How do you determine the characteristic strength of concrete?
Strength of concrete is tested by destructive testing of concrete test core samples that are taken at the time the concrete is poured. The test cores are about 7" diameter x 16" tall plastic containers. A number of samples are taken. One will be tested at 7 days, another at 28 days. A test report is provided to the firm responsible for paying the bill. The testing method is: place the core sample (removed from the plastic container), in the test machine; the machine will compress the sample until it breaks. A gauge measures the force applied and at what point it breaks.
Concrete usually breaks at 30-40% higher than the minimum specified, because the concrete company has to guarantee the concrete strength. Concrete strength is specified as: 2500 pound, 3000 pound, 4,000 pound, 6000 pound concrete. Sidewalks and non load bearing loads use the lighter weight concrete, bridges and buildings carrying loads will use a higher strength concrete. The strength is adjusted by adding or subtracting the percentages of the raw materials in the mix; limestone, water, sand, and mortar mix.
Which is the largest masonry dam has been constructed on the river in India?
Jog Falls is the highest water falls in India. Its total height is 253 meters (829 ft). It is located in Shimoga district, Karnataka, India.
updated answer by new user:
Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest WATER FALL in INDIA, its height of 335 metres (1100 ft).
The waterfall is located near Cherapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth.
Would engineered fill improve the Safe bearing capacity of soil?
Yes, it can improve the bearing capacity but the extent has to be seen with other conditions like soil, mode of filling, treatment given. In fact this was done in delhi to counter site conditions.
What is particle size distribution in sieve analysis?
Distribution of soil particles for identifying the type of soils ie., wherther it is well graded or uniform graded or poorly graded soil. And also fine sand, medium sand coarse sand or fine gravel, medium gravel, coarse gravel etc.
How much sand and aggregate required 1 cubic meter of plain concrete cement?
For plain cement concrete, the aggregate used is of size 20 mm. For RCC structures, it is 40mm and for roads, it is 80mm
Ans: Aggregate is the component of a composite material used to resist compressive stress
OR
1. Forming a total. Gathering from various sources and considering as a whole.
2. Geology. rock fragments used in construction, ie. mixed with cement. (gravel)
__________________________________________________________________
1. General: Collective amount, sum, or mass arrived-at by adding or putting together all components, elements, or parts of an assemblage or group, without implying that the resulting total is whole (contains everything that should be in it).
2. Construction: Granular mineral material (such as sand, gravel, crushed stone) used with a bonding medium (such as cement or clay) to make concrete, plaster, or terrazzo mixture. See link below.
What is c35 grade concrete in psi?
It is the bearing capacity in N/mm2 when tested on 21 day on a hydraulic testing m/c When we tested this grade concrete cubes on 28th day the compressive strength value have to come 35 N/mm2.
Can you use cpvc pipes for underground gas piping?
Only if it is wraped pipe -- And prime and wrap fittings also and install a annode
making sure your annode is lower than your pipe
What are some main disadvantages to nitrogen?
There are some disadvantages to nitrogen, especially in inflation. Two disadvantages include the expense of nitrogen, and the fact that more tire maintenance will be needed if nitrogen is used.
Can you suggest a company name for construction company?

What are the stages of dam construction?
For single family home construction, the stages are as follows:
clear site, set form boards, underground plumbing/hvac/electric, foundation makeup (hardware, mesh, sand, etc), pour concrete, framing, windows, hvac rough, plumbing topout, electric rough, low-volt rough, dry-in, roofing, insulation, stucco, drywall, garage door, trim carpentry, paint, cabinets, countertops, hard flooring, trims-(hvac, plumb, electric, and low-volt), drywall/paint touchup, carpet, final grade, landscape.
This is obviously not a comprehensive list....inspections, municipal requirements, deliveries, local building specs, etc., will cause variances. This is a good general list, though, from someone who has done homebuilding training for builders nationwide.
Why is it important to work with engineering economics for a civil engineer?
Engineering economics is the application of economic techniques to the evaluation of design and engineering alternatives. The role of engineering economics is to assess the appropriateness of a given project, estimate its value, and justify it from an engineering standpoint.
Where does the maximum bending moment occur?
Picture a beam cantilevered out from a wall with a weight hung off the outer end. The place it would need to resist bending the most is right next to the wall
What is the weight of one cubic meter class A mixture concrete slab?
A cubic metre (or 'stere' as it is correctly known ) is 35.1 cubic feet. -In wet asphalt concrete that weighs about 5,250 pounds - just over 2 and a half tons !
