It is well known that people who are colorblind have mutations in their genes that cause a loss of either red or green cones, and they therefore have a hard time distinguishing between colors. There are three kinds of cones in the human eye: red, green, and blue.

Now researchers have discovered that some people with the gene mutation that causes colorblindness lose an entire set of "color" cones with no detriment to the acuity of their vision overall.

The most common disadvantage of being color blind is not being able to see all colors.

A person can lose the color of their eyes through a condition called heterochromia, which can be caused by injury or can be hereditary.

If the father's sister (aunt) was born blind then the baby may have blindness but if blindness was caused later in life e.g getting a cricketball hit in your eye then the baby will not have blindness

I have partial colour blindness, and I see fluorescent colours as pale dessatureted colours. for example, where a normal person ould see a bright vivid fluorescent pink I see nothing but a pale salmon tone.

Colors are colors because it makes the world more interesting. I'm kidding when you have a prism, and you shine a light through it (cristal or glass prism) it makes a rainbow. How do rainbows form in the sky? Rainbows form because the light is shining through the water in a different place where it is raining.

Red, green, blue, and yellow are all local colors.

I know that a child can only become colorblind when both parents are colorblind.

There are number of types of color deficiencies (the correct name). These people are not really color 'blind'. I'll describe the common one. The most common type is the x-linked recessive congenital red/green deficiency. That means the defective gene is on the x-chromosome. So, a mom can be a carrier and still with normal vision since she has two x chromosomes. Since the father has only one x chromosome, he would be color deficient if he has the defective gene.

What the above also means is that the affected father cannot give this to his sons, but all his daughters would be carriers. A carrier mom with a normal father would have 50:50 of the sons with the defective gene and 50:50 of daughters would be carriers.

When a carrier woman and the affected man have kids, 50% of girl will be carrier and 50% of girl will be color deficient. Half the boys will be normal and half would have the condition. Notice that this is the reason you don't see many woman with this condition.

Colors were created to have a distinct feature in society

Color blindness is not blindness; it is the inabilty to tell certain hues from certain other hues. It can be mild to severe. Red/Green color blindness is the most common. Probabaly about 5% of the general population in some degree. Data has been produced about specific populations and samples; however, there are no definitive global statistics. .

Go to your doctor for advice. While your eye doctor is the one who can give you an expert diagnosis, you can test yourself also. If you use any search engine to look up "color blindness test" you can find many different websites. I have put a couple of links here to get you started.

There are many colors and patterns of umbrellas, but I would guess the reason that they are often black is that it is a neutral color and matches almost anything. But i disagree with that the umbrella is always black,since umbrella is the object used during both summer and rainy seasons, so in summer black is the only colour that prevents penetrating heat, so from the past umbrella is always black.
