Difference between metallic and electrolytic conduction?

Metallic conductance involves the movement of electrons throughout a metal. There are many metal atoms in a sheet of metal such as copper. The outer electrons of these atoms become delocalized (not fixed in one place). They are therefore able to move about the metallic sheet and so conduct electricity. Electrolytic conduction involves the movement of ions (charged species formed when an atom loses or gains electrons) throughout a pure liquid (for example molten NaCl) or solution such as NaCl and water. Main difference - one invloves the movement of electrons and the other involves the movement of ions.

How important is verbal communication in comparison with non verbal communication?

Verbal communication is communication using words, and is therefore the core of most conversations.

Non-verbal communication is also important in that it supplements the verbal conversation. For example, smiling or patting somebody on the back helps the people connect and understand each other.

The standard answer to this is 93% of communication is non-verbal but it is wrong.

The truth is that the experiments at the source of this myth (carried out by researcher Albert Mehrabian in the 70's) were focused on some very specific areas of communication - namely the communication of feelings and attitudes - not communication in general.

A wink is the same as a nod, to a blind person.

What is the relationship between John and the Pigman?

Unfortunately that is incorrect. The Pigman is an old man around 60 or 70 who was given a call from Lorraine because of a game they were playing. It went too far and they resulted to visiting him. Both Lorraine and John went to The Pigman for the money and they found later on that he was a loving man that needed somebody to be with other than a baboon. John is a friend, much younger of The Pigman. They are just friends. They roller skate together and when one of them three did something the other two would follow. The group is the Pigman, Lorraine and John. I believe the Pigman was in their path to help a lonesome man be happy. That is the relationship of the pigman and John. Not that they are Lovers. That is a very idiotic answer. Hopefully I gave you what you wanted to hear. -Pigman know-er

Is Altrincham or Knutsford better?

It depends... what for?

For tourists

For tourists, Knutsford, because it has Tatton Park, in May it has the UK's biggest travelling funfair, and the May Day parade (this year taking place on the 1st May). It has a Moor, with a children's play area, which is very safe. Also it has a lotof restaurants and hotels.

For shopping

For shopping, Altrincham.

Knutsford does not have pedestrianised streets, (apart from 'new street'). Altrincham has a bigger range of shops, but Knutsford has a sweet shop.

For transport

For transport, Altrincham, by far.

Trains: they both have as equally appalling trains, the Northern Rail 17 (it is a fact that that is one of the poorest lines in the UK). However Altrincham station has information screens and an announcement, unlike Knutsford.

Busses: Knutsford has terrible bus services, Altrincham is much better. It has approximately 15 indoor bus stands at the main bus stop, which is part of the the railway station, and has bus stops almost every 20 meters. In Knutsford the main bus stop has 3 outdoor bus stands, has no connection with the railway station whatsoever, and does not have many bus stops around the town.

Metrolink: Knutsford does is not served by a metrolink, but Altrincham is one of four end stops of the Manchester Metrolink.

For entertainment

For entertainment, it depends on what sort.

Cinema: Altrincham. Altrincham has a 6 screen cinema and it was voted the UK's best cinema 2006. Knutsford cinema is not very good, as it is a 1 screen cinema, and does not have many films showing, however the tickets are cheaper, but Knutsford does not show films in 3D. Both cinemas are located next to their town's train station.

Kids: Knutford, because it has a central playground and one in Tatton Park, plus a new one built on Longridge.

Overall, Knutsford is better, mainly due to the fact that the place itself is a lot nicer, the facilities and amenities are not necessarily better.

Please do NOT delete this because it took a long time to write. Thank you.
